This is a counter thread to the one focused on the extreme left agenda.

What elements and or policies of the extreme right agenda?

I guess since this was a speaker at the RNC, this isn’t really fringe

Ever seen the video for Metallica's One? Yeah, it'll be like that.

Man that is a great movie. Do yourself a favor and watch the movie or read the book.

That was written and directed by the great Dalton Trumbo.

If you don't know his story he was a blacklisted screenwriter.

Democrats are not socialists. Even Sanders and AOC are not socialists. Really, they’re not. Nobody wants “open borders”. Nobody wants to outlaw guns totally. They don’t support Mexican gangs and they don’t support crime.
@Infoman Judging by your reaction to MT15's post, am I incorrect to conclude that you do indeed believe all the things that were listed as not true of all Democrats? If so, do you also believe that all Republicans are racists who support white supremacy and would rather see Putin controlling our country rather than Democrats? Do you believe all the rhetoric that is said about both sides or only the rhetoric said about one side?

I feel like trickle down economics is one aspect, which I never understood, since trickle down never worked at all. So why continue to push this idea?
I don't think trickle down is extreme right though. The general idea of more job creation = more jobs with could lead to wage growth isn't crazy.

However, the problem is that those policies don't always lead to job creation, they lead to profit taking. Thus, low unemployment hasn't been leading to much wage growth (we were starting to see a tiny bit).

Bigger profits don't trickle down, unless the company makes an effort to reward all employees, not just the Executives.

Well it has serious side effects that the American worker is still staggering from.

The combination of extreme tax cuts under Ronald Reagan lead directly to the corporate raiders that pillaged because their tax burden now made it extremely profitable to put Americans out of work.

When you drop tax burden from 70 to 28 percent that is a world of profit.

The interest rates were staggering so smaller corporations could not finance a defense. Also since the rates were so high they tended to be asset rich and cash poor that made them ripe for a take over and liquidation for extreme profits.

If you add the junk bonds financing the raiders corporate America really had no shot because the raiders were not even using their money!

That is when we lost tons and tons of manufacturers like textiles, auto parts, and on and on.

Trickle down is horrendous for the American worker and a huge reason the middle class died.

But yes if the filthy rich were not greedy arses yes it could work but they are greedy and that is a fact or they would not be filthy rich they would just retire wealthy.

    -Trickle Down Economics
    -Elimination of the minimum wage
-Abolishment of federal income taxes (at least for the super wealthy) and the IRS
-Outlawing abortion and requiring all pregnant women to give birth
-Providing no assistance via food stamps or publicly subsidized child care to pregnant women required to birth children
-Health care neither a right nor a requirement
-Requiring guns to be allowed in all public spaces, including schools
-Defunding public schools and public universities
-Alternatively mandating governments to fund religious schools (provided the religion is Christianity)
-Establishment of Christianity as the official state religion
-Requiring the teaching of creationism in public schools
-Drilling off the coast of every U.S. state
-Elimination of the EPA and all EPA regulations
-Elimination of the FDA and all FDA regulations
    -Deportation of all Muslims
-Ending all new immigration except for white immigrants
-Construction of a tremendous and beautiful border wall
-Never-ending wars in the Middle East to fulfill Biblical prophecies
-I'm not even going to list the crazy QAnon shirt here but within 2 years the entire GOP agenda will be Trumpism and QAnon
    -Living in a police state
-Using the U.S. military to "take back" American cities from minorities
-Abolishing all government responsibility for public health
    -Elimination of all national parks
-Jailing political opponents but making political allies immune from criminal laws
    -Abolishment of the press
-Abolishment of 26 of the 27 Constitutional Amendments (gotta keep that Second one)
    -Owning The Libs

I may have missed a few things.

Many of these are elements of Christian Dominionism, as another poster pointed out. Several though are mainstream to the Republican Party, and for that reason I wouldn't call them "extreme." Again, as I noted in the liberal extremism thread, extreme in contrast to what? The Republican Party used to be relatively moderate, until Reagan, and has gradually winnowed moderates from its ranks. Is there a center right party in the country today, and, if not, can the current repubs be called extreme?

The following from the list above I consider to be extreme, but nonetheless are definitely "mainstream" in the current Republican Party:

    trickle down economics
health care neither a right nor a requirement
    construction of a border wall

    Others not the on list:
no tax increases of any kind for any reason
killing social and entitlement programs by raising the deficit in the stratosphere
promoting an anti-science agenda (e.g., climate denialism, COVID-19 conspiracies and other ridiculousness)
being against water and energy efficiency, as well as renewable energy
    promoting regressive tax systems
highly selective libertarianism (e.g., pro guns but anti abortion)

In addition, I think the majority of republicans in Congress would publicly support the following, if they thought they could get away with it, or there was real political gain to be had:

    Elimination of the EPA
    Ending non white immigration
requiring the teaching of creationism in public schools, at least alongside evolution

Trump would certainly support any of the above that would benefit him.
