Special Counsel January 6 conspiracy case against Trump in DC (Update: Trial set for March 4, 2024) (2 Viewers)

President Donald Trump pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the nation’s capital, a previously hidden transcript obtained by The Federalist shows.

Cheney and her committee falsely claimed they had “no evidence” to support Trump officials’ claims the White House had communicated its desire for 10,000 National Guard troops. In fact, an early transcribed interview conducted by the committee included precisely that evidence from a key source. The interview, which Cheney attended and personally participated in, was suppressed from public release until now.
    lets try other sources.
    • Trump floated 10,000 troops to protect him: Two days before the assault, then-President Trump persisted in his desire to accompany demonstrators on a march to the Capitol, suggesting 10,000 National Guard troops could provide protection for him and an entourage.
He also said Mr Trump had authorised the deployment of 10,000 to 20,000 National Guard troops to support law enforcement. Mr Patel cited multiple meetings he had witnessed.

This claim, however, also contradicts findings by the Department of Defence published two years after the insurrection.

“President Trump had authority and responsibility to direct deployment of the National Guard in the District of Columbia, but never gave any order to deploy the National Guard on January 6th or on any other day,” said a Pentagon report.

“Nor did he instruct any Federal law enforcement agency to assist.”

During the hearing, Mr Patel was also grilled over his writings about the supposed “Deep State” conspiracy against the former president.

“You wrote another book called Government Gangsters, is that right?” an attorney said. “And Government Gangsters is about your view that there’s a cabal or Deep State out there that is trying to ruin our country.”

“Not my view in the book, it’s outlined further action,” replied Mr Patel.

“And you wrote the book about the Deep State, right?” asked the attorney, to which Mr Patel replied in the affirmative.

“Is this proceeding part of the Deep State?”

“No, it’s a law enforcement proceeding,” Mr Patel said.

“Am I part of the Deep State?” the attorney said.

    “I don’t know, I don’t really know you,” the right-wing activist said.

“Is the judge part of the Deep State?” asked the attorney.

“I take the judge to be beyond reproach,” Mr Patel said.

“Frankly, sir, you think that all liberals or liberal leadership are evil, right?” asked the attorney.

“That’s, that’s outrageous,” Mr Patel replied.

“I worked more in the Department of Justice for deputy attorney general Sally Yates than I ever did in the Republican administration... I worked as a public defender for eight years executing due process. So if you wanna make that globalization, because the cameras are on, you can go right ahead.”

On Wednesday, a Colorado judge ruled Mr Trump was not permitted to dismiss the trial that will decide his eligibility to be listed on the 2024 Republican primary ballot in the state.

In fact, an early transcribed interview conducted by the committee included precisely that evidence from a key source. The interview, which Cheney attended and personally participated in, was suppressed from public release until now.

Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato’s first transcribed interview with the committee was conducted on January 28, 2022. In it, he told Cheney and her investigators that he overheard White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows push Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser to request as many National Guard troops as she needed to protect the city.

He also testified President Trump had suggested 10,000 would be needed to keep the peace at the public rallies and protests scheduled for January 6, 2021. Ornato also described White House frustration with Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller’s slow deployment of assistance on the afternoon of January 6, 2021.

Not only did the committee not accurately characterize the interview, they suppressed the transcript from public review. On top of that, committee allies began publishing critical stories and even conspiracy theories about Ornato ahead of follow-up interviews with him. Ornato was a career Secret Service official who had been detailed to the security position in the White House.

There's absolutely nothing authoritative about the source for this claim. It's complete rubbish and it's shameful that you persist in peddling conspiracy theories and nonsense. I mean, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

So in summary: Trump wanted 10,000 national guard troops to accompany him and his mob to the Capitol to protect him and them, not the Congress. (There aren’t 10,000 DC National Guard troops, only around 4,000.) When General Milley put out that military troops would NOT take part in that manner, or at all, Trump then made sure that NO troops could be called up, or rather one of his lackeys did. Trump was the person who should have called up the National Guard during the insurrection, but he didn’t want to stop it. So Pence actually had to call them up, which is technically not his place. But he had to since Trump wouldn’t.

This is exactly how RWNJ spread disinformation. Hutchinson testified as to what someone told her happened in the limo. She never said she saw it, only what she was told. But they twist that around and amplify it and suddenly millions of MAGA idiots are saying Hutchinson committed perjury. This is why MAGA is also waging war on fact checkers. Their lies don’t succeed as well if they are immediately called out.

Why are people tweeting about that now? Was there some new news about it?

Indeed. I remember her saying she was told about what happened. Her story has been consistent the entire time. These RWNJs will stop at nothing for their cult and dear leader.
