    What happens when there’s a shortage of the execution chemical? Bring out the firing squad.

    I suspect this will evolve into a death penalty discussion more broadly but I can’t help but think about some of the violent fantasies so frequently circulating in right-wing rhetoric. The gallows at the Capitol on January 6. Fantasies of firing squads at Gitmo killing liberals.

    I suspect in many circles this news is met with “good!”

    Meanwhile this week, new DNA evidence cast doubt on the guilt of a man executed several years ago. Note the attorneys agree this evidence is inconclusive, but it’s a significant piece of evidence that wasn’t available to the jury two decades ago.

    To your comment about violent fantasies, I bet you could sell lottery tickets to be on the squad at this point.
