Congressman Chuck Edwards (R-NC) quickly became the focus of online ridicule after he got caught brazenly lying about the border. Edwards posted a photo of a US-bound migrant caravan and overlaid an image of a Biden “I Did That!” sticker along with his congressional logo. The problem? The photo was from 2018 – during the Trumpadministration.

Josh Schwerin, founder of communications firm Saratoga Strategies, fact-checked the Republican representative, revealing the source of the photo. It turns out the photo, sourced from the Associated Press, depicts a US-bound migrant caravan in Mexico when Trump was president.

The caption to the original photo states the following:

In this Oct. 27, 2018 file photo, members of a US-bound migrant caravan stand on a road after federal police briefly blocked their way outside the town of Arriaga, Mexico. Activists, officials and social workers in Central America were staggered by the idea that U.S. President Donald Trump thinks he will help reduce immigration by cutting off nearly $500 million in aid to Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador; exactly the opposite will happen, they say.
