Markwayne is the only serving senator without a bachelor's degree.
    Building business at home
He grew up on his family ranch in Westville, Okla., where he still lives today, with his wife with whom he has six children, according to his Senate bio. He enrolled in Missouri Valley College on a wrestling scholarship, but left school at 20 years old to save his family business after his father got sick, according to his website. He got a degree in Applied Science in Construction Technology from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in 2010.”

“It was also a fairly glowing glimpse into one of the many businesses that Mullin and his wife own throughout Oklahoma. Spread across more than 1,600 acres, the ranch and wedding venue is one source of income. Mullin also owns twin real estate businesses, Mullin Properties and Mullin Properties West. According to his campaign website, Mullin has owned more than a dozen businesses over the years, including an HVAC company, a septic services firm, a construction company, and a restaurant, as his financial disclosure forms indicate.”

I’d say he didn’t need that bachelors degree.

    Not bad for a Plumber.

You never tell the entire story do you? Just polishing turds, lol.

From Google. Just a quick overview of how he conducts himself and how he ran his businesses.

“Markwayne Mullin, a U.S. Senator for Oklahoma and former MMA fighter tapped by Donald Trump to become Secretary of Homeland Security in March 2026, is known for a pugnacious style that has generated several controversies

. Key controversies include threatening to fight a Teamsters union leader during a Senate hearing, unauthorized actions in Afghanistan, and ethics probes regarding his business interests.
    Congress.gov +4

    Key Controversies and Incidents:
    • Senate Hearing Altercation (2023): During a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing, Mullin challenged Teamsters union president Sean O'Brien to a physical fight, standing up and offering to handle a disagreement "right now". He later defended his actions, stating, "If you have a difference, you have a difference".
    • Afghanistan Incident (2021): As a Representative, Mullin reportedly threatened U.S. embassy staff in Tajikistan while attempting to facilitate a private evacuation mission during the Afghanistan withdrawal, causing, according to The Washington Post.
    • Ethics Allegations (2018): A House Ethics Committee report investigated allegations that Mullin violated house rules by continuing to work as a director/officer of his family plumbing company and receiving income, in violation of House rules.
    • "Fake News" Comments: Mullin referenced a 19th-century story about a reporter being killed by a politician to suggest that journalists might produce less "fake news" if such actions were still allowed, a comment he later said was a joke.
    • Fiery Personality and Rhetoric: Known for a combative, "warrior" image, he has been involved in physical confrontations at a House GOP retreat and, in early 2026, described a U.S. and Israeli attack as, "This is war, and we're taking out the threat".“

This made me smile. I think this makes Tuberville the undisputed champ doesn’t it?

Nope, we got champ in Ms. I'll quote James Carville. "If I said Cyndi Hyde Smith is as dumb as a bag of cement
it would be an insult to cement. Tommy Tubberville is trying to catch her"

“Teamsters leader who nearly brawled with Mullin praises DHS nomination”

“Teamsters President Sean O’Brien offered unexpected praise on Thursday for Sen. Markwayne Mullin’s (R-Okla.) nomination to lead the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the latest sign of reconciliation between the two men who nearly came to blows during a Senate hearing in 2023.

“If anyone is willing to stand their butt up to protect America, it’s Markwayne Mullin,” O’Brien said in a statement to The Hill.”

“Mullin told reporters at the Republican National Convention the following July that O’Brien apologized to him after President Trump requested the pair meet again.

“He said, ‘Out of all of the people that I should have read their bio on, I should read yours, and I didn’t,’” Mullin recalled of their meeting.

“And I found it humorous, and we sat down, and we had a great two-hour conversation. Since then, him and I have talked very often,” he said. “He’s a workout fanatic. He’s a guy that pulled himself up from his own bootstraps and grew up in a blue-collar household.”

    VI. CONCLUSION

After an extensive review, the Committee found that this
matter raised several novel questions regarding the application
of House rules and other standards of conduct to a Member's
efforts to maintain and promote a family business. These
questions were further complicated by the procedural posture of
the matter, which began when Representative Mullin consulted
Committee staff after his election to the House in order to
ensure he and his family businesses would operate consistent
with the applicable rules. As Representative Mullin was working
with Committee staff to bring his family businesses into
compliance, OCE began its separate review, and eventually
referred allegations to the Committee that related to issues
which were part of the Committee's advisory process. While
these issues would typically be treated as advisory matters,
and the Member would be given time to bring his businesses into
compliance, OCE's Referral compelled the Committee to treat the
    issues as an investigative matter.
Ultimately, the Committee determined that Representative
Mullin made a good faith effort to seek the Committee's
informal guidance on numerous issues with respect to his family
business. Although the Committee acknowledges that its
informal, staff-level advice is not a categorical shield from
future adverse actions, such advice is nevertheless necessary
to enable the House community to successfully navigate
standards of conduct. Members and their staff are encouraged to
diligently request the Committee's advice and, upon doing so,
may rely on the advice to engage in the vetted actions. In this
case, Representative Mullin sought advice from the Committee
staff about his family business, and appears to have
substantially complied with most of that advice.
To the extent that Representative Mullin substantially
complied with the Committee's advice, it would be inequitable
to subject his conduct to sanction. However, the Committee
determined that, to bring Representative Mullin into full
compliance with the Committee's guidance, he must return
$40,000 mistakenly paid to him in 2013 by a company that he
transferred to his wife in 2012.
Representative Mullin complied with the advice he received
regarding his participation in advertisements for his family
business. However, the Committee believes that, going forward,
the House would be better served by different guidance with
regard to Member participation in advertisements. Therefore,
the Committee takes this opportunity to clarify its guidance
with respect to Member participation in advertisements or other
commercial endorsements of goods or services. Under no
circumstances should a Member be actively involved in
personally selling or endorsing good services in which the
    Member has a financial interest.\56\”

No, I shouldn’t. Markwayne is an idiot.

Enough of Trump’s unqualified picks for crucial jobs.

And enough of Republicans destroying the government and the country.

You should get compensated for what you do. Hell, maybe you are. I’d hate to think you are carrying water for the worst people voluntarily.

Just because 2 hotheads “made up” because their “daddy” told them to doesn’t make either one of them great guys and it certainly doesn’t qualify Mullin for this position.

He’s just another figurehead. Miller and Homan will continue to run the department. They will allow Mullin to grift like they allowed Noem, and all the photo ops he wants - especially since he loves to look tough.

Just providing correct information. Did you understand the congressional findings?

    Didn’t read them. Don’t care.

what makes him qualified for this position in your mind?

His only qualification for this job is that he can be belligerent and will yell at Democrats in hearings. He'll "look" like a fighter to Trump on TV, when all he will be doing is being an ignorant butt crevasse and challenging people to fights.

When did I say he was qualified for that position? I simply provided information regarding his business success absent a bachelors degree. And I provided proper info regarding a congressional investigation that cleared him.

Personally, I’m skeptical of any trump cabinet appointments.

He’s MAGA through and through. That makes him immoral and unethical, and he has been starting physical brawls with people every time his bullying doesn’t work.

Honestly none of those things are even 0.5 out of 100 on my worry meter. The only one that even remotely falls under the term "incident" is the 2018 thing, and that is pretty minor.

Well, the fact that he openly supports the tactics that ICE and CBP are using - which have been found to be unconstitutional by many courts at this point should be enough.

They are violating people’s rights daily, and lying about every incident that they are involved in. They are responsible for a whole lot of avoidable deaths.

    They’re lawless in a nutshell.
