I always figure things might be off with hi considering the accommodation Schumer made to all him to dress however. But now calls of concern are coming from current and former staff with 3+ years remaining in his term. Will the cries get louder?

Yeah, he seems like he may be having mental issues. I read something about this earlier. It wouldn’t surprise me if he is, considering his severe stroke he suffered a couple of years ago. I don’t know what PA says about how to remove a sitting senator, if it’s even possible.

No state can remove a sitting member of Congress as the senator position is a constitutionally-protected one. There are no recalls, no term limits. The state only steps in if Fetterman dies or voluntarily steps down.

Constitution says expulsion with a 2/3 majority vote.

I suspect it’s more they don’t like that Fetterman isn’t toeing the line.

Did you read the article? It’s not much, I admit.

The allegations, which he said were anonymous, were in one case actually not anonymous. His former chief of staff went on the record and detailed some very specific behavioral concerns that were not about his stances on any issues.

While it’s possible these are made up, there’s more than enough smoke to be concerned about his mental state.

I’ve read several articles on the subject. It’s possible his independent thinking is alienating him to his staff. Add in the very real depression aspect and you get a complicated situation. I don’t see any smoke, yet. He is forever going to be a complicated and questioned situation. Plus he doesn’t toe the line. His independence frightens people.

This AP article isn’t describing his independence. Sudden outbursts and evidence of paranoia to the point of making a current staffer cry and rattling the people he was meeting with. And it wasn’t even a contentious meeting, they are aligned politically.

‘HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was meeting last week with representatives from a teachers union in his home state when things quickly devolved.

Before long, Fetterman began repeating himself, shouting and questioning why “everybody is mad at me,” “why does everyone hate me, what did I ever do” and slamming his hands on a desk, according to one person who was briefed on what occurred.

As the meeting deteriorated, a staff member moved to end it and ushered the visitors into the hallway, where she broke down crying. The staffer was comforted by the teachers who were themselves rattled by Fetterman’s behavior, according to a second person who was briefed separately on the meeting.

The interaction at Fetterman’s Washington office, described to The Associated Press by the two people who spoke about it on the condition of anonymity, came the day before New York Magazine published a story in which former staff and political advisers to Fetterman aired concerns about the senator’s mental health.’

I read references in the article addressing independence a not toeing the line.

So you think these reports are made up? I don’t understand your reasoning here. Lots of democratic senators show some independence from time to time, what does that have to do with the behavior that is being reported here?

Can you say what you mean plainly? Is that even possible?

Perhaps a better time to have questioned his fitness for office would have been during his campaign. He appeared much more impaired then than he does now.
