There are plenty of videos like the one below circulating... 1st Amendment be damned.

[Mod Edit due to inflammatory partisan comments]

A bit surprised this hadn't made it here.

This is how it should have been handled:

FLINT TWP, Mich - What started out as a small protest grew to a large protest with people marching down Miller Road in Flint Township.
The protesters were marching to bring attention to the death of George Floyd and what they say is injustice. When protesters arrived at the Flint Twp. police station they were met by police in riot gear. Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson talked with the protesters and ended up joining them in the march.

Those few rotten tomatoes gives police a bad rep. It is important to understand that the majority is just as angry about this death as the protesters.

I see no evidence that "the majority is just as angry... as the protesters". The vast majority agree it was a case of an excessive use of force, but I question the assertion that that same block of people have made the connection to the systemic problem this particular case is indicative of, and that they are as made as the people who've made that connection.

I've watched quite a few periods of unrest occur over the years...I don't know whether it's because of the economic unrest due to the pandemic, the fact that we have no leadership in the WH or what..but this just feels more intense. The anger is more palpable. I've seen more of a ubiquitous condemnation and anger -- and from people all across the world.

Unfortunately as long as racism is a human trait this will happen in America. We can only hope to lessen it and hold those accountable. But I would say there is without a doubt more anger and rebellion against the government than in recent memory.

I agree, there is a different character to this, and I think it's a combination of the things you pointed out. The post I originally quoted overstates the case, in my opinion. It feels as if there's a window of opportunity for Draconian measures to be taken by the Trump admin to crush this, but they're incredibly incompetent. The administration is signaling that they're going to escalate the violence, so there's no telling what the result of that decision will be.

So uh.. I'm nearly certain we're in new territory now after that stunt by Trump.

I think this shirt's about to get bad.

What tf did he do this time?
Made his way to the rose garden to hold up a Bible and cleared his way there by teargassing and shooting rubber bullets at protesters.

And said he was a friend to peaceful protesters or something.. sigh

Any chance he physically wiped his feet on the actual Constitution when he got there, or was it strictly a symbolic trashing of this country?

Where are our second amendment advocates? Why are they not standing up against tyranny?

The government is literally oppressing the citizens as we speak.

Your fantasy is now a reality. Stand up for your freedom!

Man I'm pretty calm and rational and all.. but this shirt gets my blood boiling. I can only imagine how the ones who aren't as calm and rational will respond.

Such a fake tough guy who had to up the ante (reportedly because we found out he hid in a bunker at the White House for a little while Friday - sounds exceedingly plausible).

And yeah, he walked over in front of the church, not the rose garden.

Much better.

I saw this from Max Rose, he’s a veteran and usually pretty level headed, IMO, anyway:

It was said that the protest was peaceful and they still had 25 minutes before they were told they had to leave. The tear gas was said to have been released without warning.

Good article

It has many different people with press credentials being bullied.

It is a direct result of all the fake new crap he has been spewing for years.
