Did we really just vote against prohibiting involuntary servitude?

Thank goodness for the 13th Amendment, but either we have some folks with bad reading comprehension, were showing their true colors, or both. Or is my comprehension bad?

There were language that made it a bit confusing. Some lawmakers who sponsored it asked for no votes after some amendments, I believe.

from what i read it was in relation with criminal punishment.

So im thinking along the lines of "Angola prisoners making license plates for $.50/hr "

I'd like to know more about that. I voted for it as my understanding of the language was involuntary servitude was prohibited except for the proper administration of criminal justice.

    Maybe my comprehension is off.
