The failure comes just more than a month after the company’s seventh Starship flight also ended in an explosive failure. The back-to-back mishaps occurred in early mission phases that SpaceX has easily surpassed previously, indicating serious setbacks for a program Musk has sought to speed up this year.

Pretty sure it’s not the left playing the long game with judges

The irony, here, is that the exact opposite is true. The GOP would have a fraction of the power it has were it not for the courts being in their pockets. Thomas Hofeller was the architect years ago, in North Carolina, re-drawing lines in NC and changing rules to take the voting power away from the bloc of university students on Tobacco Row and other university towns and cities.

The result, in a single election, shifted the state representation from something like 8 Republican and 7 Democrat to 12-3 (not the exact numbers). It was a HUGE win for them and they began to gerrymander the hell out of the state.

Other states took notice and hired him for these "services." We didn't understand the depth of all that he'd done until after he'd died and his children were going through his home. They'd discovered all of these documents, IIRC, and were horrified and so publicized what they'd found.

It was a roadmap to where we are right now. The GOP felt their place in US politics were flagging, they were against the inevitability of their own demise and realized they couldn't win with the people and so needed to win by gaming the system.

Since then, it's been gerrymandering (down to levels that would shock some of you, block by block, street by street) and voter ID laws all designed to shift voting power.

It's sick and undemocratic.

Elon is an ignorant twit and only proves the depth of that ignorance each time he takes to Twitter.

The Republicans tired old playbook of “there was no way we could have legit lost”…the nut brigade are now blaming ActBlue, the secure donation site for Democratic candidates and mail in voting of course. Anything they can dig into & make up to disenfranchise legitimate voters.

FRAM2 mission splashdown

First mission to orbit North and South poles

Elon Musk is claiming, without evidence, that Democrats have been using fraud in entitlements like social security and Medicare to attract immigrants and boost their voting ranks – language that also echoes racist rightwing conspiracy theories.

The billionaire owner of Tesla and SpaceX and Donald Trump’s “first buddy” has been trying to justify cuts to programs like social security, arguing that the fraud has cost the government up to $200bn.

“This is why the Democrats are so upset about the situation,” Musk said on a podcast with the Republican senator Ted Cruz and radio host Ben Ferguson.

“By using entitlements fraud, the Democrats have been able to attract and retain vast numbers of illegal immigrants and buy voters. Basically bring in 10, 20 million people who are beholden to the Democrats for government handouts and will vote overwhelmingly Democrat.”

Musk said that his so-called “department of government efficiency” (Doge) will “turn off fraudulent payments of entitlements” to “illegals”, as he listed off a long slate of government programs including social security, Medicare, unemployment, disability and small business loans.

He then voiced what sounded akin to the “great replacement theory”, which has been taken on by rightwing extremists and describes the theory that people in the US, specifically those who are white, are being “replaced” by immigrants.

“If the Dems can bring in 200,000 illegals and get them legalized … even without cheating, if you bring in illegals that are 10 [times] the voting differential in a swing state, it will no longer be a swing state,” Musk said. “And the Dems will win all the swing states in a matter of time.”

Musk then warned of the “deep socialist state” that Democrats will achieve if they take over the federal government.

“They will further cement that by bringing in more aliens, so you can’t vote your way out of it,” he said.……

Musk, who recently broke WI law to buy votes, projecting his own deeds onto Democrats for all he is worth. He is just vile.

Does the article at least debunk this crap? No, it does not.

“illegal” migrants are unable to collect Social Security or Medicaid or Medicare. They are unable to vote in federal elections. The article never mentions this, all it does is call his allegations unfounded.

This excellent recent article from Electrek sheds light on a pattern of behavior by Elon Musk that raises serious concerns about fraudulent conduct, duplicity, and egocentricity.

Musk's actions, as detailed in the article, suggest a troubling pattern of self-dealing and misrepresentation. He allegedly diverted NVIDIA AI hardware, initially acquired by Tesla, to his private venture xAI, and reassigned Tesla employees to work for xAI. This move not only potentially breaches his fiduciary duties to Tesla shareholders but also indicates a willingness to prioritize personal ventures over corporate responsibilities.

Moreover, Musk's legal disputes with OpenAI reveal inconsistencies in his public statements. While he criticized OpenAI's shift to a for-profit model, internal communications released during litigation suggest he had previously agreed with this direction. Such contradictions point to a pattern of duplicity, where Musk's public narratives diverge from his private actions.

OpenAI has been defending itself with the release of some emails that show Musk actually agreed for years that the organization needed to move to a for-profit model.
Now, OpenAI has countersued Musk and released more details that show Musk has been misleading the public for years.
OpenAI has all the receipts to prove this. I recommend reading all the emails because they give great insights into Musk’s persona and how he presents himself publicly versus what he says privately.

Here are some of the highlights to prove the timeline above:

Early on in the founding of OpenAI in 2015, it was proposed to be a non-profit linked to Y Combinator, Sam Altman’s company at the time, and Musk was already suggesting to make it a regular C corp:

the most troubling for me in those emails- Musk clearly views himself/AI as "savior of humanity"

WOW.
