Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

I haven’t read this yet. I don’t think Trump will have enough power to pull off something if he loses this time, unlike in 2020 where he was the sitting president, but it’s good to keep ourselves informed about what he could try to do.

Contrary to what Trump and Republicans keep saying, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has not been politicized. That's why we don't hear much about all of the things the DOJ is doing in response to Trump's and Republicans's efforts to sabotage and steal the election.

The only time we hear about the DOJ's efforts is when they take a public action like notices, court orders and/or filing lawsuits. They aren't publicizing their actions to safeguard the election, because they don't want to politicize the issue. They are protectively watching election activities like a hawk.

I don't think there is any way Trump and Republicans can steal the election if Trump loses, but I do think Trump and Republicans will try to incite as much violence as they can.

From Twitter, the account that impersonates Jack Smith. Too long to just post the tweet.

“When he says your kids are being forced to get sex change operations in school...or that migrants are eating your pets...or that FEMA is your enemy...or a thousand other absurd claims he wants you to believe...

    Step back for a minute.

Forget what he's saying to you.

Focus on what he's saying ABOUT you.

    He's saying you're gullible.

That you lack critical thinking skills.

    That you're an idiot.

That you'll dance to his tune when he feeds your prejudice. When he preys on your fears.

That he can manipulate you. For your money. For your vote.

    He isn't a president.

    He is a predator.

Predators do not belong in the White House.”

    Coincidence, or karma? 🤭

    OMG lol -

So my future son in law- on Oct 9, stopped at McDonalds late to grab bite on way home from event. Spent next 2 days violently ill ( both ends ) and even took another 5 days to feel fully "right" ( stomach wise ) . He fully suspected it was McDonalds...this all but confirms it.

Im now wondering if he ate a Quarter Pounder....asking lol

    One death

How can it be just quarter pounders?

My understanding was that they all shared ingredients and it’s not like , these patties are for the quarter pounders, those are for the Big Mac, those buns are for the mcchicken these other buns are for the McDouble
    ========

    E. coli food poisoning linked to McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburgers has sickened at least 49 people in 10 states, including one person who died and 10 who were hospitalized, federal health officials said Tuesday.

The death was reported in an older person in Colorado, and one child has been hospitalized with severe kidney complications, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.

Infections were reported between Sept. 27 and Oct. 11, in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Colorado has the most cases, 27, followed by Nebraska with nine.……

Actually, that's exactly how it is, though there is some crossover (fun fact, my first job was at a McDonalds about 34 years ago).

Patties all come frozen, so you have quarter pounder patties ("4 to 1") (which were also used for the McDLT back in the day), and then regular hamburger patties (10 to 1), which are also used for Big Macs. And there were different packs of buns for the different sandwiches, with hamburger buns also used for filet-o-fish, except steamed instead of toasted.

And everything is cooked with timers, so there are separate grills for the different sized patties, just like they have separate fryers for each different type of food that's deep fried, so there's limited cross contamination.

So it would make sense that people got sick from one type of sandwich and not another.

    Who knew?

Never would have guessed because all McDonald’s burgers look and taste the same to me

Also, they have made a big deal recently about using fresh, never frozen patties, but only on one particular burger.

I’ll let you guess which one.

Aaaand that's exactly what he had late Oct 9. A quarter pounder.

Wow. Never went to Dr so his episode went unreported.

He was massively ill for 2 days...couldn't even hold down pedialyte (and if ever had to drink I wouldn't hold down not sick lol)

Crazy this came out today. He all " I was no 50" lol

It could have been the quarter pounder he ate the day before, but it most likely would have been whatever your future son in law ate 3 to 4 days before the first symptoms.

"Signs and symptoms of E. coli O157:H7 infection usually begin three or four days after exposure to the bacteria. But you may become ill as soon as one day after exposure to more than a week later. Signs and symptoms include..."
