This is going to need a thread as we move forward - there are now clear signs that Trump supports a new, critical if not dubious approach on vaccination, and his HHS nominee RFK Jr. regularly espouses eating raw milk and raw meat . . . dietary components most experts agree are more dangerous than their heated counterparts.

Health is certainly one of those areas were anti-institutionalism and turning to popular influencers over medical science comes with genuine risk of harm.

Today Trump provided his most clear indication that he is a vaccine skeptic - claiming (falsely of course) that the USA doesn't "do as well" as other nations that use no vaccines at all.

Robert F Kennedy Jr, the health and human services (HHS) secretary, is planning to issue guidance encouraging Americans to eat more saturated fats, contradicting decades of dietary recommendations and alarming experts.

“My response and sort of counsel to myself was to stay calm, and let’s see what happens, because there was no indication given as to how, why, when this potential shift would occur,” said Cheryl Anderson, an American Heart Association board member and professor at the University of California, San Diego’s school of public health and human longevity science.

“The recommendation around saturated fat has been one of the most consistent recommendations since the first edition of the dietary guidelines.”

While Ronald Krauss, a professor of pediatrics and medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, who has researched saturated fats extensively, found that saturated fats may be less harmful than previously thought, he believes if “[Kennedy] is actually going to go out and say we should be eating more saturated fat, I think that’s really the wrong message”.……..

I'm the farthest thing from a dietician, but even I know there are no saturated fats in fruits and vegetables as he
states in this article. Shame on you Bill Cassidy.

all because some idiot said seed oils are inflammatory.
Yeah, the average American has way too much saturated fats in their diet. Look at life expectancy worldwide
and you'll see countries who don't eat a lot of saturated fats live longer on average than we do.

I've done searches, but can find any direct connections between RFK Jr. and Aajonus Vonderplanitz (birthname John Richard Swigart) who was one of the most prominent champions of a diet of raw fatty meats and dairy products, the origins of the Primal diet and one of the inspirations of the Paleo Diet. There has to be a connection though, because all of Kennedy's ideas about diet came straight out of Aajonus Vonderplanitz's mouth going back to the late 1960's.

I mention it, because RFK Jr. exhibits a lot of the same cult like devotion to a heavy meat and dairy diet that those who follow Vonderplanitz's teachings do.

Looks like Hot Wheels is suing Tylenol.
(CNN) — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against the companies Johnson & Johnson and Kenvue, claiming that they “deceptively” marketed Tylenol to pregnant mothers and that the medication is tied to an increased risk of autism.

Kenvue said in a statement that the medication is safe and the company will “vigorously defend” against the claims.

The lawsuit, dated Monday and filed in the District Court of Panola County, Texas, comes about a month after President Donald Trump publicly claimed that the use of Tylenol during pregnancy can be associated with an increased risk of autism in the child, despite decades of evidence that the medication is safe.

“Big Pharma betrayed America by profiting off of pain and pushing pills regardless of the risks. These corporations lied for decades, knowingly endangering millions to line their pockets,” Paxton, the state’s Republican attorney general, who is also running for US Senate, said in a news release Tuesday. “By holding Big Pharma accountable for poisoning our people, we will help Make America Healthy Again.”

The lawsuit claims that Johnson & Johnson and Kenvue violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act because they knew that acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, “is dangerous to unborn children and young children” and “they hid this danger and deceptively marketed Tylenol as the only safe painkiller for pregnant women,” according to the lawsuit………

(Reuters) -U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ordered the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention staff to probe the potential harms of offshore wind farms, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The move is part of a broader push by the Trump administration to scrutinize offshore wind development, which Trump himself has repeatedly criticized.

In late summer, the Department of Health and Human Services, headed by Kennedy, instructed CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, or NIOSH, to prepare research about wind farms' impact on fishing businesses, the report said.

Kennedy has met NIOSH director John Howard about the issue and listed particular experts for Howard's team to contact, Bloomberg reported.

"Work on this report has been halted solely due to the Democrat-led government shutdown," an HHS spokesperson told Reuters..........
