Lindsey Graham has died and Mitch McConnell is having apparently serious health issues. This is going to impact the midterm elections and possibly balance of power in the Senate. Crazy how quickly things are changing.

FWIW, I have a hunch McConnell is incapacitated and his seat needs to be vacated and filled. Idk what the normal process is for something like this, but needs to be dealt with sooner than later.

Let me be the first to congratulate Alana Stewart for finally leaving that nuclear fallout shelter she must have been trapped in for the last 10 years. I can't imagine what it's like to finally have access to the internet and current news.
My advice to Ms Stewart is that liberals might not be “filled with hate”, but we recognize a threat to our existence that we can legitimately hate, having “extreme dislike” towards it. What is inexcusable is the vilification of people whose primary crime is identifying Agent Orange as the threat he represents to everything we claim to cherish.

I’d describe the generally feeling of the people who support the current party in charge as so broken bad, they manufacturer threats based on their own selfishnesss, racism, and lies, and what they mostly hate is normalcy, morality, and integrity if it actually means level playing fields, equal opportunity, neutrality from the law, living under democracy. Basically, they’ve warped the idea of the American Dream, into my white arse dream, where you take care of me first, and screw the others.

And unfortunately this is happening in the ‘white privilege’ mindset, where low IQ whites think they are defacto members of the Country Club by virtue of their whiteness, they don’t question capitalism, viewing it as the road to their future riches, thinking these rich white guys will take care of them instead of preying on them. The idea of the GOP being a populist party is as corrupt as the MAGits are stupid. Yeah, minorities and feriners are the main course, but blue collar Trump supporters are dessert, as you are being reduced to serf status.

Final thought on today’s sermon 😉, Govt that is actually for ‘the people’ not to control the sheep, no corruption allowed, and hard core Wealth Caps!! Capitalism is playing with fire, that is not only burning us, it is consuming us. The sooner this is recognized the better, if ever. 🤔

    Re: filling vacant senatorial seats

I do not disagree with the sentiment. We have far too many idiots in elected positions in all levels of government as it is.

That being said if the rules, as few and simplistic as they are, lay out how to fill a seat and there is no violation of those rules then sticking his unqualified sister in is legal. Is it good? No. Is it stupid? From our standpoint, sure. Then again, we have the problem that the qualifications for being a senator are ridiculously simple. Bernie Moreno got elected senator for Ohio with no government experience at all as well as he was sued for withholding wages in his business. Never underestimate the stupidity of the electorate.

The only qualification for becoming an elected representative in the US Congress is be a citizen with a good line of rhetoric/BS to sell/fool enough voters/suckers into believing in you. If you want a winning strategy in GOP perspective, turn to the white bigotry, racism, privilege, STUPID angle. Of course the GOP Governor of S.Carolina would appoint another (I assume) Republican, but she’s an unknown entity at this point, not that I’m saying this is a basis for optimism.

Our entire form of government is based on the assumption that everyone involved has the best interests of the nation at heart.

It is tragically helpless when that's not the case.

Faux News wants us to believe…

McConnell finally broke his silence on his previously undisclosed medical conditions that have kept him absent from the Senate since he was first hospitalized on June 14. In a post to social media, McConnell said he would not be returning to the Senate floor just yet due to doctors' orders, but vowed he would return to "finish the job" before his announced retirement at the end of his term.

Beshear’s reputation is taking a bit of a beating over this

So much so that I wonder if/how this will affect his 2028 ambitions

And his ‘strongly worded letter’ just feeds into the whole narrative of how Dems don’t have the stones to play dirty if the situation calls for it

I refuse to believe that this situation would be playing out like this if roles were reversed

Totally agree on all points. Force them to take you to court where they'll have to put up or shut up.

If Mitch were serious about stopping the rumors he would release a short video from the rehab hospital.

They don’t give CPR to people who just pass out.

or at least have the cable news universe go to the hospital where moscow mitch is and have proof that he is there

    which brings me to say

since they did not do that then moscow mitch must be at a underground hospital thats run by the us of a government within the us of a government where they do like the science fiction and fantasy styles tests projects experiments and trials
