Looks like the fight is on with Israeli soldiers and civilians amongst the dead already. Question becomes, how long before we get dragged into this?

    This apparently happened

Someone in the room had some sense instead of clapping like robots…

How our government could welcome a war criminal who has without reserve directed the slaughter of thousands of children is abhorrent.

Hey Andrus - I figured the context was fairly obvious given the events and comments by BN.... And I am by no means some big supporter of BN or all his actions...That said, when you have people attacking LEOs, defacing / destroying property (Hamas is coming? / Abolish the USA?), touting a "final solution" for Jews, and flying the banner of a terrorist organization (Hamas)... all while American citizens and other innocents are still being held hostage by said terrorist organization... I think his characterization of "useful idiots" referencing those specific people... is more than apt... and didn't think it required a lot of context.
Your appeal is duly noted and accepted,

The person that reported the post needs make note of this, also.

I don’t know what the policy is here for posting graphic scenes. I have seen countless images of children hanging from walls, in pieces, beheaded, body parts scattered, under rubble.. probably things that most wouldn’t forget and might result in losing posting privileges.

But i strongly believe people need to see these images. They need to see and understand that this is not a “war” as they’ve been led to believe or try to make themselves believe to justify it.

We (Americans) can’t be the people that claim to care about the helpless and unfortunate and then be two faced and hardened about it when a certain people of a certain region are being exterminated.

We invited the monster who is doing this to advise our legislature, and we should all be ashamed of that. Would we have invited Hitler in when we found out he already had camps to exterminate Jews? Think about this.

We as people who care about the lives of the innocent - the children, the elderly, of women, of those with no home, of the disabled, the oppressed — we as Americans of all parties should be able to come out in strong opposition of our government’s hand in aiding and abetting the genocide in Gaza. History will remember. So will future generations. The children will ask about this. What will we tell them?

"Many of us like to ask ourselves, “What would I do if I was alive during slavery? Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? What would I do if my country was committing genocide?”

The answer is, you’re doing it. Right now.

You'll need to put an NSFW-graphic tag above those with graphic videos if the screencap isn't graphic. Anything that shows graphic pics or video screencaps, use the spoiler tag and add the reason for the spoiler so that people can decide whether or not they want to open it.

That's basically how I post pics/videos in the Ukraine war threads.

You will never get a state dept official to accuse an ally of anything negative. They will talk in circles and say nothing definitive. If something accusatory is coming out, it will be done by someone at the top.
I agree, but that's yet another reason not to trust the State Department. If their spokesman can't be candid or tell the truth, I can imagine how dishonest the rest of them are.

It is more about what is said publicly versus privately. It’s like when someone calls Tibet a country and China loses their mind. When I worked at Marriott, someone tweeted a like from the official Marriott account about something happening in Tibet and China shutdown the Marriott website in China for a month.

You do realize the State Department is directly accountable to the WH? The responses will usually be in lock-step with whoever is in the WH. That is true of this administration and was true of the previous one. It won't be any different when Trump is in the WH. If anything, Trump would be ever more supportive of Israel and he's never once hinted otherwise. Hell, he's probably applauding Bibi like many of the Republicans did when he spoke to Congress.

    Big news
BEIRUT (AP) — Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran, Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard said early Wednesday, and Hamas blamed Israel for the attack.

Israel has vowed to kill Haniyeh and other leaders of Hamas over the group’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people and saw some 250 others taken hostage.

An Israeli military spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Israel often doesn’t when it comes to assassinations carried out by their Mossad intelligence agency.

Hamas said Haniyeh was killed “in a Zionist airstrike on his residence in Tehran after he participated in the inauguration of Iran’s new president.”

Israel is just pushing for WWIII. I get going after an Hamas leader, but to encroach on another country's sovereign land is just inviting retribution.
I don’t think where they attacked is as important as who Israel attacked. Haniyah was the Hamas negotiator, and reportedly was the most pragmatic Hamas negotiator. I’m not sure what that means, but it suggests to me that he realized Hamas would have to give up things they would not otherwise want to give up. It suggests to me that Israel doesn’t want pragmatic solutions. If you’re willing to kill the most pragmatic negotiator, then how do you expect anyone to be willing to negotiate with you? Israel has every right to kill military leaders and soldiers, but normally you don’t kill intermediaries if you want to negotiate in good faith, especially if they are the most reasonable at the table.

The people running Israel are not interested in negotiating in good faith, they killed their own because he was willing to negotiate in good faith.

You haven't followed Israel's flaunting of other countries' sovereignty when they assassinate their enemies? They have a load of history doing this. As a matter of fact, they have already assassinated someone in Iran before. In Europe. In Africa. I don't remember in the US or Canada. I'll have to look it up.
