Didn't see a post. Abe had been the longest-serving PM in Japanese history before he stepped down a few years ago due to illness. I will always remember him from these photos:
Apparently, the killer used a homemade shotgun that they found more of at his home. Security for Abe was pretty lax. There are several videos out there of the incident (fortunately, not the actual murder).
