I figured we may as well have a separate thread. I’m thinking this story should be looked at with more scrutiny.

Here is an affidavit from a person who witnessed Trump having sex with a 13 yo girl at Epstein’s NY home. Her identity was sealed from the public. These women and girls who came forward were receiving credible death threats as I understand it.

Former US soccer star Abby Wambach has announced she is leaving the Wasserman talent agency and called for its founder and 2028 Los Angeles Olympics chairman, Casey Wasserman, to resign after emails between him and Ghislaine Maxwell were revealed in the Jeffery Epstein files.

The two-time gold medalist and World Cup winner shared a statement on Wednesday saying she was leaving Wasserman, an agency that represents an extensive roster of athletes and celebrities across the sports and entertainment industries.

Several musical artists, including pop star Chappell Roan, have cut ties with the agency since Wasserman’s correspondence was revealed in the files. Wambach is the first figure of note from the sports world to publicly depart.

“I read Casey Wasserman’s correspondences in the Epstein files. I know what I know, and I am following my gut and my values,” Wambach wrote on Instagram. “I will not participate in any business arrangement under his leadership. I also need to say this: I’m grateful to my agent, who I’ve known for almost 20 years and trust.

“Casey should resign. He should leave, so more people like me don’t have to. I am unclear of my next steps. That’s OK with me, I just know where I can’t be.”………

A grave concern that stays with me, and I’ve expressed on many occasions - we are watching the actions of people who never expect to be held accountable.

I have the same concern, though it hasn't reached the level of grave.

I have no doubt they think they will never lose power, but they think a lot of shirt that isn't grounded in reality and they've thought a lot of shirt that didn't happen. They all thought that they would not lose power in 2020, but they did.

I believe that their feelings of being invulnerable and all powerful are rooted more in their delusional arrogance and hubris, much more so than it is in any actual knowledge or competent plan on their part.

For instance, they've been certain they would win a lot of the elections since 2024 and they have failed in everyone, and don't think they haven't tried to rig or mess with those elections. They thought they could use ICE and CBP thuggish violence to scare us into submission, that failed miserably on their part.

If they were Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bill Kristol, then I'd be gravely concerned. The more cocky and arrogant this bunch of Republican thugs act, the more confident I am they will meet a metaphorical version of Icarus's fate.

My wife doesn’t deserve this. I don’t deserve this. Kids don’t deserve this. The millions who knew how awful this was all going to be and voted for Kamala don’t deserve this.

    Pretty much everybody else? Sure.

Unfortunately, we don't get to pick and choose who "we" are.

Of course we do. *We* is used to designate a group. So, it depends on use.

We are all at risk of the consequences of this regime.

We aren’t all to blame for handing over our country to this regime.

*We* don’t all *deserve* this government.

I often try to find hope in your outlook, because it’s an area where I think our views diverge. I’m less optimistic than you are. (That’s difficult for me because I used to see myself as an eternal optimist and I’m desperate to feel that way, again.)

Trump is a bigoted buffoon. Not everybody around him is incompetent, however, and they are working from plans that have been in the making for years.

I’ve pointed out before that I think this regime is made up of two basic groups:

-unqualified sycophants who will do what they are told.

-capable people who are dangerous because of the resources they draw from and the influence they can exert.

Trump has powerful pieces in place around him which is what makes this all so treacherous and uncertain, and we’re seeing glimpses of the playbook that portray a dire outlook. He has control of federal law enforcement, military, both chambers of Congress. So far, there’s no indication that Johnson, Patel, Noem, Bondi, and Hegseth won’t simply do whatever he orders, all of this backed by extreme wealth and tech leaders who are rapidly fortifying the surveillance state.

I don’t think all hope is completely lost - but I think it’s increasingly bleak.

Oddly enough, I used to have a more cynical outlook.

Trump is a bigoted buffoon. Not everybody around him is incompetent, however, and they are working from plans that have been in the making for years.

I’ve pointed out before that I think this regime is made up of two basic groups:

I see it that way too, but they are all ultimately selfing serving and are not in lock step with each other, so they can't do anything without infighting and backstabbing that handicaps and sabotages them. This isn't just with the people around Trump as president. It's been true with the people around Trump for his entire life.

I also don't think Trump will be capable of giving any orders past 6 months from now and I think that he's already significantly diminished. I'm seeing signs that the Game of Thrones to replace Trump has already begun and expect it to get worse. The FAA, the DOD and DHS are already publicly feuding and point fingers at each other. I think that's because the people the Republicans put in charge of those agencies are already smelling Trump's blood/demise in the water.

Trump has powerful pieces in place around him which is what makes this all so treacherous and uncertain, and we’re seeing glimpses of the playbook that portray a dire outlook. He has control of federal law enforcement, military...
I don't think the Republicans actually have full control of the military. I think that's why the military has not been used to attack and subdue protestors. There are a lot of indications that a significant chunk of active duty and retired military will disobey and possibly turn on the Republicans if they are ordered to attack US citizens.

...both chambers of Congress. So far, there’s no indication that Johnson, Patel, Noem, Bondi, and Hegseth won’t simply do whatever he orders, all of this backed by extreme wealth and tech leaders who are rapidly fortifying the surveillance state.
We've got a difficult struggle, but they do not have the power they keep trying to trick us into believing they have. They are desperately hoping that we will just except their fascist domination as inevitable and give up. I'm not seeing any signs that we Americans will do that. They can't prevail unless we let them, so they can't win unless we give up without a fight.

I don’t think all hope is completely lost - but I think it’s increasingly bleak.
Things are bleak and things may get worse before they get better. I've been preparing myself for the very real possibility of a bloody conflict starting shortly before or after the election. Part of that preparation is to remind myself every day that all things come to an end, including the horrible things. The other part is to do what I can to try to keep a bloody conflict from happening, and a big part of that is not to accept that it's inevitable. That's how I'm dealing with it all. Work toward and have faith in the best outcome while preparing for the worst.

Problem is too many of us don't want to accept that we didn't get here over one election cycle, or even 4.

    We all got here.
