It looks like the first shoe has dropped with the Durham investigation with the Clinesmith plea deal. Clinesmith wasn't a low level FBI employee involved in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

He worked with Strzok to arrange sending an FBI agent into Trump-Flynn briefing, was on the Mueller team, he took part in the Papadopoulos interviews, and he participated in the FISA process.

    From the NYT article:

I wonder who else knew about the lies?

If the phones were due to be reissued, the person holding the device doesn't have to do anything in order to wipe it. It's routine to do it remotely.

now that you say that, the Yahoo article mentioned that one of the agents said that is what happened to his phone. It was reset to factory settings without him doing anything to it.

This would be another opportunity for a person to further curate their Twitter follows, or their other sources. If said sources are running with this non-story as if it is evidence of some “deep state” conspiracy to “get Trump” or some other such nonsense, they are either duped themselves, or they are doing it in bad faith.

It's probably either because of the words in your search or the search engine showing you the sources you visit the most, becuase I saw this earlier today on the front page of CNN's website.
Not quite. That article wasn't posted when I made my post. It shows up now when I do a google news search.

17 phones from Mueller’s team including prosecutors and agents were wiped by "accidentally" entering the wrong password 10 times which takes a minimum of 1 hour and 36 minutes. Those phones weren't wiped because they were being re-issued.

Papadopoulos was charged for obstruction under 18 US Code 1519 for deleting his Facebook account.

18 U.S. Code § 1519.Destruction, alteration, or falsification of records in Federal investigations and bankruptcy:

Whoever knowingly alters, destroys, mutilates, conceals, covers up, falsifies, or makes a false entry in any record, document, or tangible object with the intent to impede, obstruct, or influence the investigation or proper administration of any matter within the jurisdiction of any department or agency of the United States or any case filed under title 11, or in relation to or contemplation of any such matter or case, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.

Those 17 phones that were "accidentally" wiped were obviously done to hide something. You honestly think there was nothing nefarious going on?

Is there a particular reason why you put the word accidentally in quotation marks? Do you have some kind of evidence that it was done intentionally? Because if not, then, no...it wasn't done to hide something.

I don’t believe it was 17 phones. There’s a lot of misinformation being repeated.

Because we know the phones that were wiped by entering the incorrect password, which would take at least an hour and a half, were done purposely to hide something. Do you really believe that after multiple months of using their phones that they just suddenly forgot their passwords? They knew exactly what they were doing when they deleted their phones.

I guess you never had a job that gave you a phone. It belongs to the employer. It gets wiped clean before it goes to anyone else.

Nothing to see here with this bull show.

Oh I am sure you can find crap from your usual suspects on twitter about the deep state or nonsense about some conspiracy.

The fact of the matter is the FBI handed this idiot the votes he needed with the investigation into emails announced so why I gods great earth would they do that if they were out to get him?

    Just use some logical thinking.

I’ll bet you it doesn’t take an hour and a half to wipe my phone. These allegations are ridiculous on their face, and get even more ridiculous the more you look into them.

You are saying that you know the phones (3) were wiped to hide something. Wouldn’t that knowledge require you to know the state of mind of the person allegedly wiping the phone? You don’t know any such thing.

Crazy conspiracy theories are not my cup of tea, although it seems that is not the case for others.

If you have an iPhone it does take that long to wipe your phone if you entered the incorrect password 10 times

An iPhone will disable for 1 minute after six failed passcode attempts in a row. The seventh incorrect passcode attempt will lock you out for 5 minutes, the eighth attempt for 15, and the tenth for an hour.

All of Mueller's team knew that Federal record keeping laws require them to turn over their phones and not delete anything. Do you really believe that after months or a year of using their phones that right when they needed to be turned over that they forgot their passwords? Weissmann wiped his phone twice.

What could possibly be the reason that it happened other than not wanting people to see what they were up to?

You want me to use logical thinking, but you can't even understand that those phones in question weren't wiped because they were being re-issued. They were wiped before they turned their phones in.

Were they iPhones? Do we know for sure it takes that long on whatever operating system was in play 2 years ago?

In at least one case the phones were reset remotely. Before they were turned in. It was only 3 phones that you are talking about.

Did it ever occur to you that whatever information on that phone was backed up, probably. Or if it was communications, then it existed on other phones besides the one phone that was supposedly being “wiped”.

It’s a stupid conspiracy theory, IMO.

Dude find yourself a JFK theory to get behind because this is nothing what so ever.

My personal fave is the new Orleans mob killed JFK. And yes that theory is just as silly as the FBI
that handed him votes right before the election was actually trying to screw him with the deep state.

Oh and yes they can wipe them remotely. If you ever get fired from a job that gave you one you will figure that out. It is normally clean before you even hand it in.

Do we apply this same logic to Trump's tax returns?

Do we apply this same logic to Trump refusing to meet with Mueller in person for questioning?

Do we apply this same logic to the high ranking members of Trump's administration who ignored subpoenas and refused to testify before Congress?

Why would they do that if they had nothing to hide? Isn't that what the logic says?

But then there's this from another thread.

We can't prove he did it but we assume he did is not a convincing argument at all.

Wow...that's good to know. I guess I can be expecting a call from the base security office soon. I recently had to have my accounts to some government websites reset because I entered the wrong password multiple times. I really thought I was just making mistakes when I type in those wrong passwords. Thanks for clarifying it to me that I was actually doing it to hide something. I'll be making an appointment with the mental health office so they can help me figure out how I was unaware that I was hiding something.
