Hearings begin today. The smear has already started:

I've been watching a bit of the KBJ hearings this morning and so far, it would be an easy vote to confirm her. She's articulate, thoughtful, sincere and unflappable so far. See seems super competent and I think she'd be an excellent justice.

Some of the questions are cringeworthy. But that's not unexpected in confirmation hearings.

This is embarrassing. Cornyn acts like if the government allows gay people to be married in civil ceremonies and have the same civil rights as other married couples, that somehow takes something away from people who don’t want their churches to recognize gay marriage. Nobody is forcing a church to sanction and/or perform gay marriages. To pretend that granting civil rights to a set of people will hurt him and/or his religious beliefs is just hateful.

Indeed, but then, we're talking about a really, really low bar in Sen. Cornyn. He's utterly terrible.

I guess I have never seen him in action before. I was just gobsmacked by first his hatefulness and then how ill prepared he was to actually make his points.

I've seen him a few times. Never was impressed by him. But today was worse than his usual drivel tbh.

Cornyn’s last “gotcha” was he told Jackson that he was quite surprised to see she had written that Bush and Rumsfeld were “war criminals” and went on about how that was a very serious charge and how surprised he was that she had written that and asked her why she had written that. She looked confused, and for good reason. According to this guy, it didn’t happen.

Yeah, once Durbin circled back to that after the break and completely destroyed Cornyn's point basically showing how contorted it was by using verbiage she wrote that out of context would make it sound like that's what she was saying. Cornyn is an idiot and needs to retire.

Ted Cruz gets paid in KKK cash every time he says "Critical Race Theory".

Jesus, we have the worst representation in this state. How do people in this state vote for these idiots and then wake up in the morning. 🤨

Cruz just spent about 15 minutes trying to paint Ms. Jackson as being soft on child porn violators. Totaly unfounded I might add.

I can't post what I think of Ted Cruz.

Graham was trying to make a point because Barrett received some tough questions about her religion, but here’s the difference and it’s a BIG one. Barrett had written that her religion shapes her judicial decisions, and Barrett belongs to a somewhat fringe religious society with beliefs outside the mainstream. Jackson has said that her decisions are based in law, not her religion.

Which is what the Right Wing DOES NOT WANT..
