Biden stepping down - now what? (2 Viewers)

Huh. And yet, I'm not scared by healthcare, people using the bathroom, competing in sports, or teachers not being required to tell parents who their children are.

Weird. It's almost like you're scared of rhetoric, not realty.
Then we are on different sides of the isle. Guess we both have fears…

No such thing as free medical care. So that’s incorrect. And nobody wants to pay insane taxes for “free” medical care
I would be willing to pay more in taxes for a better system that doesn't leave people subject to bankruptcy over medical issues and emergencies with the caveat that if you have money I acknowledge that you probably should be able to obtain a higher level of care (outside of emergency), which I'm generally OK with.

But I don't really see us getting there..

    Of course it has.
I'm not sure anything relevant to the point the tweet was making has though.

Unless the implication is Trump has lost his marbles to the point he'll have actually forgotten what Project 2025 is.

It’s part of a lot more. I think you guys use it all the time with Trump. It’s how it starts right?

LOL, no, if a liberal talking point had gotten owned like that. We at least would have shutup about it from that point forward.

There aren't any big social issues to talk about for Republicans anymore other then gay marriage. Trans stuff is an extremely small fraction of the population.

I’d love to hear about it and how good their system is, wait times etc because I’m a stock holder in a Canadian company and its shirt. We actually offer a US insurance plan because we are close to the border
It's been awhile since I've had the conversation with any Canadians but a handful of times I've talked about it with some of them who now lived here and all preferred the Canadian system.

Anecdotal I know, but has just been my experience in conversation.

Instead of my employer paying 10k to a PPO on my behalf. That 10k can be spent in taxes for my medicare. I can pay at extra percent, or two if it means never seeing a medical bill for the rest of my life.

How do you feel about allowing children to drug themselves or destroy their bodies because they think they are a different sex or how do you feel about men dressing as women and using a ladies bathroom, or winning sports awards as the opposite sex. How about California AB 1955 where schools and teachers don’t have to tell parents their kids are transgender or how they consider their sex? That’s real stuff happening and it’s scary as shirt!
What you are reciting are actual boogie men, Krod. The propaganda you’ve been fed is pretty amazing.

    1. Children are not allowed to drug themselves. There is a medical process and protocol in place for all medical treatments, gender treatments are no different. It involves doctors, counselors and parents for minor children. We have a member who has related their personal experience with a child, who needs a bit of hormone therapy. It makes the difference between good mental health and absolute despondency. The government has no place in medical treatments like this.

    2. Men can use the women’s restroom any time they want. There are stalls, nobody sees anything. What a crazy hill to die on. Sports generally have guidelines based on actual hormone levels rather than gender identity. Once again, each sport can work its own guidelines out without the government trying to dictate how they run their sport.

    3. Children who are “outed” to their parents are often beat up, and/or thrown out in the street. It should be the teacher’s discretion whether talking to parents puts a child in physical or emotional danger. Teachers are the professionals. Once again - government comes in with a sledgehammer and just causes more issues with this heavy handed stuff.

I think we need to revamp the system but I think part of the problem is the abuse with good insurance. I have friends that have insurance through Louisiana. They have a state job. They go to the doctor for any and everything. If their eye itches they go. I’d say why are going to the doctor for every little thing. Their response is our co-pay is $15 and emergency is $100. They do t realize what the doctors charge for that $15. I know many people like that. I have great insurance with a co-pay of $25 and haven’t been to the doctor in 5 years.

There are solutions out there in the ether for everything, we'll just never get there on most of them.

1- the fact that adults are making these life altering decisions for kids is the crazy part. All of it should be outlawed until they are at least 18. It’s gross and detrimental

2- when my 16 year old daughter walked into a target bathroom 2 weeks ago and there was a dude in a dress in the mirror putting on eye makeup, it scared the hell out of her and she left. So yes I’ll die on that hill l, you can be ok with it I’m not

3- it’s not a teachers or schools job to decide anything for my child without my knowledge or approval. The government, state or federal should not be allowed to decide for kids without their parents consent.

These are things that I won’t change and there are more people than you think that agree

I believe that Trump only looks out for himself, which is why he is distancing himself from 2025.
He recognizes that it jeopardizes his ability to be reelected but it doesn't really tell us what happens with it post election. Probably doesn't play as a main main focus like abortion, but I think Democrats are not endangering themselves by bringing it up.

We pay a lot now. Studies show we have a very inefficient and costly system when compared to other first world nations. And make no mistake, because of insurance companies, we have rationed care right now.

The problem is we have let the ultra wealthy and corporations go too long without contributing a more reasonable share, while sucking enormous amounts of wealth out of the economy.
