    Okay. Your opinion of me matters not. If you want me to have sympathy for Trump, you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm not going to express fake concern about his welfare.

    Maybe Republicans will do something to address gun violence now, but probably not.

    I bet you were just waiting with that response locked and loaded.

    So do you have any strong opinions about Representative Mike Collins blaming Biden for inciting this and calling for his arrest? The tweets have been verified in this thread. If you addressed it then I have overlooked it.

    This is unacceptable. It should not have been possible.

    There need to be many heads rolling at the secret service and whoever else is responsible for security.

    This isn’t Trump’s fault.

    I have to question the SS letting him stand up and exposing him after the fact. That part didn’t seem right at all to me. We should have never seen his face or head again after that. That was just not a good job by them.

    I think the immediate fault lies with trump - that is a person who has proved for 40 years that you shouldn’t trust anything he says or does
    Like 0 reason to believe the least utterance from his mouth
    Beyond that we can point to systemic concerns, but disbelieving trump is 100% a bed he made

    it has been Republican policy for decades to ignore safe gun policies and safe gun laws. It just has. Objective fact. Until just recently they wouldn’t even allow any studies of gun violence. Reasonable people want to mitigate gun violence. There could be any number of policies that would help.

    True background checks, keeping guns out of the hands of people who commit domestic abuse, fingerprint trigger locks, the list goes on.

    Car crashes and airplane crashes have been successfully mitigated by studying causes and engineering safety. The GOP has blocked those efforts for gun violence repeatedly.

    Coldseat is wasn’t locked and loaded I’ve actually never given you a second thought.

    Yeah, in an ideal world this is something we could all semi-rally around.. unfortunately this ain't no ideal world and I can't really imagine this resulting in anything other than a deeper division.

    He’s an idiot. I see exactly how he tried to tie something together but it’s idiotic. We live in an America that’s run by idiots and there is no end in sight.

    Maybe I'm alone in this belief, but I think it's virtually impossible to secure any location in America any longer. There are things that can be done to make it harder, and I'm sure the SS did what they could to prevent this. But nothing is 100% secure when somebody really wants to do it. And that's gotten a lot easier to pull off in America today.

    An outdoor venue with a ton of possible sightlines is a lot more difficult to lock down than an indoor facility. It's the same concept and approach the SS took after Kennedy was assassinated in his car. They said no more open vehicles during transit. Same should apply with political events.
