You have to start somewhere, and what better place than where people are dying for a new leader.

I really liked him as a Presidential candidate, and thought he had some great ideas that could get us somewhere better than where we were. If he can win in NYC, he can take that springboard into the WH in 2028.

Well, he'd get to try his universal basic income idea out on 8 million people

And if it works that should be a major factor in gettin him into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Honestly, the 2020 election was just there to put him on people’s radars, and let people know he wanted in on politics. If this election actually pans out like he wants, he has some ideas that can be tested that generally wouldn’t be accepted by the entire nation without proper testing. He will test those theories of his, and if they work it would be the dawn of a great day for this country.

    Well, I'm rooting for him.
NYC seems like it would be one of the more challenging places to implement UBI and have it work as intended, given the high number of renters, and its interdependence with the rest of the tri-state non-NYC metro area.
You'd have to think that any UBI will almost immediately get baked into rental costs as renters have more money in their pockets. The already sky high cost of living and doing business in the NYC metro area would get another catalyst inside the city limits. Would be interesting to see the fluctuation of real estate prices in NYC vs the surrounding areas, and how areas just outside of the city limits would be affected.

They also have rental protections/controls. Not for everyone, but, I'd think someone smart/savvy enough would know to implement some new controls if UBI became a thing.

    I really like that guy.

Wish him luck but not many people get out of that office a liked person.

I can't remember one that came out without a good bit of stink on them.

I think that if I was from New York, I’d rather have Maya Whiley as mayor than Andrew Yang.

I think Yang is more interested in validating UBI and future political ambitions than running a city.

UBI is a great idea that is inevitable. He didn’t just think it up himself. It will happen with or without Andrew Yang.

I’d still want the Mayor to make sure that the garbage picked up on time and the trains to run on time even during a snowstorm.
