I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

If true, these clowns should be held accountable for causing unnecessary deaths w/ their fear mongering.

It’s almost like they realized the jig was up and the fact that they are all vaccinated and have to have a vaccine passport to work there was being made public.

I know Hannity doesn’t give a crap about how many people have died. Neither does Carlson or any of those cretins they put on to stir up their audience.

My girlfriend had a idea that every politician, talking head or anchor who talks about the vaccine must have their vaccine status shown onscreen

So while Tucker is railing against it it says below "Fully Vaccinated in March 2021"

Marjorie Taylor Greene saying that the vaccine is worse than the holocaust - "Vaccinated in April 2021"

She believes that 90+% of them have gotten their shots

    Regarding "Do your own research"

Last year it was pointed out that the CDC annual budget was 6 or 7 billion dollars, so what kind of Google search were you going to do to contradict who knows how many scientists, specifically trained to do this, and have been experts in their field for years/decades????

Also when doing your 'own research' you can always find something online to confirm what you already believe no matter what you believe

“Do your own research” is only appropriate advice if the audience is capable of discerning quality information and then digesting it to come to their own, well-informed opinion.

That’s fine when it’s appropriate but most people these days lack that capacity - and especially these hosts’ audience, whom research has shown to be particularly prone to conspiracy theories and superstition. I’m not saying these people don’t have a right to do their own research - they’re individuals with free will and this is America, but that doesn’t mean it should be encouraged.

It’s pretty obvious now that in many circles, especially in the populist right (e.g. Q) “do your own research” is effectively code for “watch” online videos from suspect sources with poor information quality and “believe” what they say. It’s basically saying to open your mind to the conspiracy and then the conspiracy peddlers will do the rest . They’re salesmen, not legitimate researchers.

More specifically, they’re the snake oil salesmen of today.

    speaking of snake oil

Jim Bakker and his southwestern Missouri church will pay restitution of $156,000 to settle a lawsuit that accuses the TV pastor of falsely claiming a health supplement could cure COVID-19.

Missouri court records show that a settlement agreement was filed Tuesday. It calls for refunds to people who paid money or gave contributions to obtain a product known as Silver Solution in the early days of the pandemic.

The settlement also prohibits Bakker and Morningside Church Productions Inc. from advertising or selling Silver Solution “to diagnose, prevent, mitigate, treat or cure any disease or illness.” Bakker, in the agreement, does not admit wrongdoing.
