I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

I get that Senate Republicans are suddenly concerned about the deficit again. Funny how that works at the end.

However, there are two ways to create a deficit. Over spending and undercollected taxes (i.e. not enough receipts). If we do nothing, and all all of these foreclosures, homelessness, economic crash... we're going to be adding to the deficit and having problems for years, if not a full decade to come... or we can over spend a bit now and hope this is the last bit to bridge the gap until the virus isn't as big of a factor (lower cases / treatments / vaccine).
I'm cynical enough to believe that the plan is to facilitate foreclosures so that the wealthy can buy everything at pennies on the dollar.

This could probably go in a couple other related topics (related to the fake political ad Trump and co made taking his words out of context to show faux praise for Trump)
Yeah, pretty screwed up. I was going to post this in the Trump tracker, but it fits here too.

“They did this without my permission and my comments were taken out of context,” Fauci, the nation’s top infectious diseases expert who’s a member of the White House coronavirus task force, said in a statement to NBC News and CNN.

“In my nearly five decades of public service, I have never publicly endorsed any political candidate. The comments attributed to me without my permission in the GOP campaign ad were taken out of context from a broad statement I made months ago about the efforts of federal public health officials,” his statement continued.

    2. The treatments he got - which are neither vaccines nor cures - to be popularized as treatments. But I am not sure how many insurance companies are going to cover monoclonal treatments. I'm willing to bet not many. So in the absence of a real vaccine candidate, I anticipate this being the next talking point.

Speaking of Regeneron, the research for what became Regeneron was conducted using - at least partially, if not mostly - stem cells from aborted fetuses. But now all those religious anti-abortion groups are ok with that use, because, you know, Trump.

Let's also be clear that he requested and received "compassionate use". The monoclonal antibodies are NOT approved.

In a regular hospital setting, compassionate use is granted when nothing else worked and looking for a hail Mary pass.

You can't go in on day 1 and get. You have to be on deaths door to receive.

They gave him on day 2 and he makes it sound like this is normal course of treatment.

    It's not

He also made it sound like he was going to make sure everybody can get the same treatment for free. He can’t do that either, and he won’t. Just all a big lie.

Overlay that with a map of Trumplandia.
Folks, you're my American brethren. We'd fight in the same foxhole against a foreign military. I'd happily break bread with you on Thanksgiving. We give each other's kids candy on Halloween. We're family, y'all...and this orange monster is trying to kill you. Is killing you in wartime numbers.

Please, open your eyes and give him the boot in a few weeks. Get rid of him before it's too late.

The Italian Senate doesn't take kindly to people not wearing masks...

If you were caught out in public during height of pandemic in spring without proper papers ( denoting where you were going, your temp, est time at destination etc ) you went to jail.
