The football board had the very useful Daily Trump Tracker thread, which was a good place to briefly discuss the latest ridiculous thing that might have ended 97% of prior Presidential administrations even if it didn't necessarily justify an entire thread devoted to it in 2017-2019 (because of the sheer volume of these things). Since I don't see anything like that here already, I'll add one myself.

The dude actually suggested that injecting bleach might be something we need to look into as a cure.

Good grief, the dumb.... it stings....

i cant stop laughing at this idiot. UV light under the skin. Disinfectant injected -- because " almost a cleaning"

Dude is at a presser, thinking out loud with his mouth.

The best is the camera shot of Dr. Birx - she is cringing.

The last thing you want to show the American Public is that you have absolutely no clue about how things work. Defer to experts. Don't just ramble.

He'll just blow it off about how "he's not the expert, he doesn't know these things, he's just throwing ideas out there". We don't need a brain storm session Mr. President. Not at a press conference. We need clear, actionable information.

If I get time this weekend, I'd love to throw the clip of his presser on Thursday (at least this portion of it, and where he's confused that UV light is a line of sight thing), and compare it to almost any Governor's briefing. I bet even the biggest moron governor will sound better.

And mental capacity is an area where Trump supporters believe he has a distinct advantage over Biden... Instead he's on par with the dumbass who thought Guam was going to tip over.

The scary thing is that I believe Trump is "all there" cognitively.

It's simply that his "all there" is pretty shockingly unintelligent when it comes to certain matters of common sense.

Yeah, I agree. Biden is clearly diminished but I don't think it's going to matter that much with what we're getting from Trump.

I think Trump is fairly far along the dementia spectrum, actually. Compare his speech from even the campaign in 2015-2016 to now. Then compare 2016 to ten years earlier. He’s steadily deteriorating right in front of us. His father was his age when he was diagnosed, I think. He cannot always form his words, he cannot follow an abstract thought. He has dementia on top of his pathological narcissism, IMO.

He said he was being sarcastic LOL.. I've honestly resisted saying anything like this until now because I wasn't convinced it's what we were seeing, but... he really is very stupid.

Except Brian Kemp. That might be what and what.

not when you turn to your medical professionals and ask them to look into it

Same guy who told the American people while vistiting the CDC he blew them away with his medical knowledge.

There is sooooo much fodder for Bidens campaign this summer/fall. Im reeeeeeeeeeally waiting for the debates.

It's funny, for as much as has been said about Biden's mental capacity, we have a president who has now seriously suggested pumping sunshine up one's butt as a medical procedure.

    Lol holy shirt man

    Sen Dukakis - your rebuttal?

I voted for him, and will again, and I admit what he said was absolutely incredibly stupid. I don’t think he was being facetious either.

Whenever he gets real backlash on one of his comments he was always joking or just kidding or was being sarcastic

    ===================================
President Trump on Friday said he was being sarcastic when he suggested multiple times a day earlier that scientists should consider exposing the body to light, heat and disinfectants as a potential treatment for coronavirus.

"I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen," Trump told reporters at an Oval Office bill signing.

"I was asking in a very sarcastic question to the reporters in the room about disinfectant on the inside," the president continued. "But it does kill it, and it would kill it on the hands and that would make things much better. That was done in the form of a sarcastic question to the reporters."

When a journalist in the Oval Office pointed out that Trump had turned to experts next to the stage when he first raised the idea on Thursday, the president claimed he was asking those officials "whether or not sun and disinfectant on the hands ... can help us.".........

President Trump on Friday threatened to block an emergency loan to shore up the U.S. Postal Service unless it dramatically raised shipping prices on online retailers, an unprecedented move to seize control of the agency that analysts said could plunge its finances into a deeper hole.

“The Postal Service is a joke,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. To obtain a $10 billion line of credit Congress approved this month, “The post office should raise the price of a package by approximately four times,” he said.

Trump for years has alleged the Postal Service has charged too little for packages and personally pushed the head of the agency to charge far more to ship goods for big online retailers.

Several administration officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, have said Trump’s criticism of Postal Service rates is rooted in a desire to hurt Amazon in particular. They have said that he fumes publicly and privately at Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post, for news coverage that Trump believes is unfair.

But raising USPS prices so sharply may not have the impact the president desires, analysts said, as it would put postal services prices far above those of UPS and FedEx, allowing them to raise prices a little and still gain market share, they said.

“This is about as catastrophically stupid an idea that anyone could ever imagine,” said Mark Cohen, director of retail studies at Columbia University Business School.

“As if anyone from Amazon to the local mom and pop delivery businesses would ever put up with a rate increase like that when they have alternatives.”.............
