    Several prominent Democratic figures are set to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this month, two sources familiar with the plans told NBC News.

    President Joe Biden, former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been confirmed as speakers at the convention. Obama and the Clintons delivered speeches during the 2020 DNC, which was largely held virtually to prevent the spread of Covid-19 amid the pandemic.

    A source familiar said that former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson Jason Carter is also confirmed to be speaking as a representative for his grandfather…….

    The Emmy-award-winning actress will chair the panel alongside members of the Democratic Governors Association during the 2024 Democratic National Convention…..

    Attendees are set to include; Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly, Maine Gov. Janet Mills, Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek.

    In a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter, Louis-Dreyfus said she was “honored” to be hosting the panel, describing the governors’ voices as “essential.”

    “I’m honored to host this conversation with America’s Democratic women governors while our party comes together to celebrate in Chicago,” the statement read.……

    CNN just mentioned rumors of a possible big name Republican appearing on stage next week to support Harris. I don't think he fits the "big name" model. Who would you pick be?

    My pick, although I'm 100% certain it won't happen, is W.

    Couldn't disagree more, at this point in time he's a bigger name and more frequently in the news than W....

    Pence would be the biggest name, or one of the most impactful. To trot out Trump's previous VP, and have him talk about how Trump tried to kidnap/assassinate so Trump could get his coup. Ooo baby, that would make good tv.

    Liz Cheney? Saving her official endorsement for maximum exposure? I know she's spoken against voting for Trump, but I haven't heard that she said she'd vote for Harris.

    I'd be surprised if it's a Republican who currently holds any elected office.
