Why can't you wait for the post-mortem, and review process to take place? They will share the root cause(s), along with structual, and personel failures that took place for the ex-president to almost be assisinated.

I don't understand any conspiracy theory here. The SS is extremely tilted conserative. You are eating your own. The SS did everything in it's power to make the Jan 6th coup happen. You could at least show them a little understanding in that it wasn't lack of devotion that caused this screw up.

It is more than likely that USSS failure was due to trump's detail had become too familiar with its protectee! I guarantee you that there isn't a single person within trump's detail that has ever told him NO!

I'll just point out, without taking a side on what happened, that the Snopes article lists Trump's statement that he was hit by a bullet as evidence. Because, of course, he would not lie. They also claim that we have a photo of a bullet striking Trump, but we don't.

I think it's that combined with complacency. You can only guard people for so long before things become routine and you aren't as "aware" as you should be. I do aircraft maintenance, and we have step by step guides that walk us through every step of the maintenance we do. On a daily basis, we have people fail performance evaluations because they miss steps. Why? Because they have been doing that same task on a daily basis for years.

That's my question as well. I wonder if there was a direct line or if an LEO is supposed to notify his superior and then the supervisor would notify the SS. I mean, it should take seconds and not minutes.

If the SS had obscured visibility, then they'd have rely on the LEO to give them live updates.

That said, a person going from merely suspicious to taking a shot is pretty quick.

I have no doubt they're gonna have agents and LEOs manning the roofs of building from here on out.

I believe a bullet clipped his ear until the evidence shows otherwise, but the “he’s the toughest SOB alive!” GOP theme is ridiculous.

Or he’s so mental about appearances that a mangled ear is weak to him -so he has to cover it. Same reason why he won’t let wounded veterans be on the stage with him.

Should he have been shot at? No.

Is he an azzhat? Yes.

they NEED it to be a conspiracy, point blank. they know the attempt isn't enough to make people change their vote. but they think of they push the govt conspiracy hard enough it may help..
