I believe the Governor gets to select an interim and either a special election will be held on the next election cycle or the interim would finish the term, dependent on NY law.

Rep.-elect George Santos’ (R-N.Y.) voters told CNN’s Eva McKend that they feel “completely betrayed” by the Republican and weighed in on his litany of lies last week (You can watch voters weigh in on Santos in the clip below).

Santos, who is reportedly facingat least two investigations, has come under fire over falsehoods and several inconsistencies regarding details he shared about his background, such as his education, his connection to Holocaust survivors, the date of his mother’s death, and his work history.

Teodora Choolfaian, a Santos voter, told McKend that she feels “completely betrayed” and no longer supports the candidate due to the controversy.

“George Santos is a fraud,” said Choolfaian, who went to a rally attended by Santos’ former opponent Robert Zimmerman on Thursday.

“The whole persona that he created, the ability to deceive us, is so troubling. This man should not be allowed to be in office. And we all know it. I want to assure you Republicans know it, too.”...........

Santos has the same resume that Trump had, the ability to lie and just move on.

"Special Council John Durham will prove the crime of the century was committed by the FBI and DOJ against me" 2yrs and millions of dollars later, Durham got a conviction of one lawyer who got a small fine and probation and nothing elese except 2 not guilty verdicts.

"I paid million of dollars in taxes each year," Trump claimed during his presidental debate = LIE. He claimed to be a "fabulous" business man. His companies lost 10's of millions of dollars in the last 7 years. "I do not have any bank account in China!" LIE. Everything he touches fails and/or operates outside the law. His presidency got "stolen." LIE. Even his buddy Sean Hannity testified he never believed a word of it.

Jan 6th was peaceful. LIE . His company being convicted of 17 counts of felony tax fraud and Trump says the Distric Attorney is a leftist racist and the judge at his company's trial was a communist and the jury "all democrat operatives." LIE.

MAGA is a party dedicated to ingesting and processing lies into "destroy the woke" feed for the gullible, their media echo chamber and worshiping Sycophants. Santos will make a great foot soldier in the MAGA army of invention.

Trump started it. When he made Spicer go out on day one and lie about something as verifiable as crowd size and nobody in the GOP pushed back on that lie - I was pretty amazed. I suppose I shouldn’t have been.

Since then the lies were pretty much non-stop and nobody in the GOP even tried to do anything about it. They’ve been signaling that they don’t care about lying. Note: I am talking about a specific kind of lying that we see from Trump and Santos. Pathological lying.

The chairman of the Nassau County Republican Party on Tuesday said that embattled Rep. George Santos told him that he was a "star player" on a the volleyball team for a college that he did not attend.

During a press conference featuring top Nassau GOP officials calling on Santos to resign from Congress, Joseph Cairo said that the congressman fabricated his involvement with the Baruch College sports team while being vetted during the campaign.

"He told me ... that he was a star on the Baruch volleyball team and that they won the league championship," Cairo said of Santos.........

He doesn’t seem the type to resign voluntarily - they need to recall him or use some other procedure to get a new vote (if there is such a thing). Ridiculous this guy, legit pathological liar.

Maybe there’s some other leverage to get him to resign, dunno.

McCarthy said today that Santos will get a committee assignment. And that everyone lies on their resume.

Just seeing the press conference that the Nassau Co. Rs had today - its wild.

There are 4 NY US Representatives (all Rs) now calling for him to resign. Yet, the Speaker will not hold him accountable.

Look up what Pelosi did to Weiner. There’s what a real Speaker should do. This sham congressman shouldn’t serve one more day.

Evidently McCarthy’s official stance - other than everybody lies on their resume - is that the voters elected him and he is accountable to them. Well, Kevin, the voters don’t have a way to remove him for two entire years. Doing nothing here is not acceptable.

What a shock that McCarthy lacks the ability to do his job.
