Another article about trumps slipping support with the military
    =========================

The weekend warriors in their Army surplus battle rattle, their paintball weapons and gun show specials are getting lots of love from this clown show’s commander in chief.

“GREAT PATRIOTS!” President Trump tweeted, along with a video of the vigilantes flouting the law and causing disorder while cruising the streets of an American city.

Meanwhile, the real defenders of freedom — the men and women of the U.S. military — aren’t getting love from Trump. And they’re sure not giving it.

Unsurprising, given the way Trump didn’t even blink at reports that Russia was paying bounties to Afghan troops for American kills.

Or that he was impeached for withholding military aid to Ukraine, putting global trust in America’s military at risk.

Or that he keeps trying to take millions in military funding — gutting plenty of military projects right here in the D.C. region, including a day care for military kids — to build his wall.........

VoteVets.org just posted this on fbook...

SFL, would you mind sharing where this was taken and/or where you got this photo?

Did the weird font from my response not tip you off to the sarcastic tone of my post?

    The Navy canceled the transport.
Yeah, the Navy cancelled the Marine 1 flight. The Navy didn't cancel the Beast which he could have riden comfortably in for 40 miles. 40 miles that the other leaders who were present drove to pay their respects. I'm a vet but I don't need to be to be disgusted by this vile human and the people who make excuses for him.

Since all these "confirmations" are anonymous, do you think it's possible that they are all the same sources as the Atlantic article?
They may be (of which there are four sources), but isn't the point that the reporting of The Atlantic writer has been independently confirmed? That the writer didn't just make it up?

That said, I personally would prefer the sources go on record, even if it means attacks by Trump and his apologists. That way, you would have to at least move on to trying to discredit the credibility of the sources directly.

You keep saying this and I'm curious how you arrive at this conclusion. I've read the article and I didn't get the sense that any of the disclosures was written, meant or intimated to be "main." It all seemed like a collection of occurences that pointed to one main theme - the President's disdain for the military. How are you concluding that the point about the helicopter/rain was a "main claim?"
I suspect it's because he thinks trying to discredit the "main" claim is a winner for him, and by painting it as the "main" claim he can by association dismiss any other reported occurrences without actually having to address them. But he can correct me if I'm wrong.

It's from Trump's July 4th speech last year. It was raining heavily earlier that day, but it was clearing up before Trump came out, as he said at the time:

That said, it may possibly have showered on him a bit.

However, establishing that he might have been willing to face the possibility of a slight shower to address the crowd at the multi-million dollar military-style 'Salute to America' he'd been wanting for ages does literally nothing to refute the notion that Trump wouldn't want to go to a cemetery in the rain to honour those he apparently considers to be 'losers'.

So far everything brought up to 'refute' the reporting from the Atlantic, in particular the key point that Trump disrespects military service as corroborated by AP, the NYTimes, the Washington Post, and Fox News, doesn't.

Not only that, Rob, the photo has been cropped in a misleading way. Here’s the full photo:

As you can see the water is on a shield, from earlier showers no doubt. I’m very curious to know where SFL got his cropped version. When I come upon something like that, I use it to cull my ”follow” list. Whoever cropped the photo did it to mislead and to protect the president.

I would still like to hear from SFL where he got the photo, from an informational standpoint.

Please prepare to be shocked, MT. Shocked, I tell ya...

Right down to the exact same text (that SFL edited to the alternating upper/lower mocking usage.

Even Bolton who dislikes Trump and his foreign policy is saying the weather reason is true. They can't get Bolton to go along with the story and I'm sure he wants Trump to lose re-election.

How naive does one have to be to not understand the scenario:

    Trump doesn't want to go.

    Trump whines about weather.

Trump calls dead "Losers" and complains about how he has to stand in the rain for losers.

Trump is told weather is bad for helicopters

    Trump refuses to go.

Someone orders his attendance canceled due to weather and a memo is sent out.

I wonder where that water on the shield came from? Maybe they had a sprinkler for Trump to play in before his speech.

Perhaps you missed post #115, where RobF shared the tweet Trump sent out saying that the weather was clearing in time for his speech that evening.

I did see that he said this post #115:

That said, it may possibly have showered on him a bit.

Ignoring the thing Trump said at the time to focus on speculation 14 months after the fact is sketchy. Why did you post the cropped photo from Undercover Huber? Doesn't the wide shot (which shows no signs of ongoing rainfall) make you rethink his veracity?

Considering my post was sarcastic I'm quite happy with the photo.

So, you post a clearly altered photo to refute the fact that his orange combover melts in the rain, and His narcissism won’t allow that.

when you are presented with evidence that your favorite source is a complete hack- “I was being sarcastic”

But AP NYT, Washington Post and the Atlantic all corroborate with their anonymous sources (like how watergate was blown open), and they must out their source to be believed.....

Your sources are anonymous and unverified. In other words, completely untrustworthy. And you decry anonymous sources from real news people.

Do you see why some have a hard time with your credibility?
