Philip Haney, 66, an Obama-era whistleblower was found dead from a single gunshot to the chest in a California ditch.
    He'd been missing since Wednesday.
In 2016, Haney testified he had been ordered to destroy Homeland Security domestic Islamic terrorist files.
The gunshot wound is being described as "self-inflicted."

Haney served 15 years with the Department of Homeland Security. Here's a background article from 2016, in his own words.

As the number of successful and attempted Islamic terrorist attacks on America increased, the type of information that the Obama administration ordered removed from travel and national security databases was the kind of information that, if properly assessed, could have prevented subsequent domestic Islamist attacks like the ones committed by Faisal Shahzad (May 2010), Detroit “honor killing” perpetrator Rahim A. Alfetlawi (2011); Amine El Khalifi, who plotted to blow up the U.S. Capitol (2012); Dzhokhar or Tamerlan Tsarnaev who conducted the Boston Marathon bombing (2013); Oklahoma beheading suspect Alton Nolen (2014); or Muhammed Yusuf Abdulazeez, who opened fire on two military installations in Chattanooga, Tennessee (2015).

It is very plausible that one or more of the subsequent terror attacks on the homeland could have been prevented if more subject matter experts in the Department of Homeland Security had been allowed to do our jobs back in late 2009. It is demoralizing—and infuriating—that today, those elusive dots are even harder to find, and harder to connect, than they were during the winter of 2009.

    What a bizarre article:

"Upon their arrival, they located and identified 66-year-old Philip Haney, who was deceased and appeared to have suffered a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound,' said authorities,"

"Authorities have not shared any further details as they investigate Haney's death, no arrests have been made and a motive has not been made clear. "

So, authorities said that it was a self-inflicted gunshot, and no arrests have been made?

Suicide by self-inflicted gunshot to the chest is not the norm, but it does happen.

Suffering excruciating terminal brain cancer, my brother-in-law went out in the backyard, put the butt of his rifle on the ground, leaned over and put the muzzle to his chest, reached down and pulled the trigger with his thumb.

Yeah, the conspiracy theory sites are ramping up and there's no shortage of folks calling this a murder.

Kelly Walton posted on Haney’s Facebook page, “Phil was a hero. No way this is suicide. While I was running the ACT chapter network, Phil tirelessly worked to get the truth out. Watch your back everyone.”

Another friend and former Marine Randy McDaniels told the California Globe, “There are a lot of conflicting reports. I knew Phil well enough to say for certain…he would on no way commit suicide.”

I understand all that....I just found it interesting that they quoted authorities as saying that it was a self-inflicted gunshot, and then said that authorities hadn't made any arrests. If authorities had said something that made it suspicious, or gave reason to question it was self-inflicted, that would be something different.

of course, if they found evidence of foul play they wouldn't want the killer to know of their suspicions...

Hey dad's do you get news from any real web sites?

I am just wondering if news from this group is deserving of its own thread

The California globe? Really you have to be joking. They are a completely private company. So you don't know who funds them no owner listed. So in essence if don't say who funds you then what does that say your honesty level? If you can't be transparent with ownership you are a joke.

The daily mail? That is the national enquirer of the friggin UK!

The hill is given the spectacular mostly factual so dead center in the media bias scale.

That is the best of the junk you have posted and they are slightly above slightly pathetic.

I looked for something other than Fox News so you wouldn't gripe, but it seems my efforts were in vain. :hihi:
For whatever reason, other news outlets weren't interested.

Come on that Moonie paper should have your right wing sex traffic pizza type of story.

I do have to thank you for posting the links to this it cracked me up.

The stuff you guys read and get all bent out of shape over is a riot.

Oh since you didn't answer the Moonie questions earlier what do ya think about them?

Since you post from a rag that was started to forward their cause. Oh and Sun Myung Moon was a big republican backer from Nixon to W.

You asked somebody else about the Moonies.
Tell you what, since CNN didn't even bother to cover it, let's go to Google News and see who did, so we can choose a more acceptable source.

Looks like Fox is the least objectionable, so we'll go with their coverage.

Haney, who retired in 2015, studied Arabic culture and language while working as a scientist in the Middle East before becoming a founding member of DHS in 2002 as a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agriculture officer.

After serving as an armed CBP officer, he was promoted to its Advanced Targeting Team. He specialized in Islamic theology and the strategy and tactics of the global Islamic movement.

My bad on the Moonie stuff.

I get you and the beach guy completely confused sometimes. I guess it is you guys are a cut of the same make an excuse cloth.

Good fox read loved it. Would think since he was on the fox payroll that they would have a bit more information.

Don't worry about posting a fox article. I read fox every day. Like to see the angles they push and the absolute nonsense sometimes.

I also love all kinds of stuff that you think I would not. Hell I absolutely love John stossel videos on YouTube. They are the best. Completely out of touch garbage yet real fun to watch. Love to see the climate change debunked videos. Man I love that stuff is just fun.

    Have a great day man.

And hopefully this tinfoil hat thing grows legs beyond the tinfoil hat sites.

So you're OK with CNN not even bothering to mention the killing on their site at all?

So you're OK with CNN not even bothering to mention the killing on their site at all?

Well it is ruled a suicide and they never covered that tinfoil hat story the first time so why would they now?

Suicide is not a killing. Well a self killing if you like.

He was considered a right wing hack. I am sorry if you have a problem with how he was perceived by the world.

When you googled his name the highest graded any winged news source was fox.

    That should tell you something.

Actually, the highest graded any winged news source was The Hill, from his 2016 assertions about the Obama administration ordering him to destroy radical Islamic terrorist records.

Wiping him from history by not reporting his death is not cool. But, Stalin would have approved.

    A bit dramatic here huh.

He wrote a book and pushed the tinfoil hat story to all the right wing news places after testifying before Congress to sell book.

He committed suicide just a few months after his wife passes away from cancer and you guys get the tinfoil hats out.

Dude come on. Did you bring up the fact of his dead wife? I had to dig for it. Did any of the other sites pushing the murder story?

    Nope.

    Dude this a non story.

I tend to agree with CNN this was always a non story about a nobody that wrote a tinfoil hat book.

So you're OK with CNN not even bothering to mention the killing on their site at all?

Since you call it a "killing," are you implying that it wasn't a suicide?

If so, do you have a theory as to the motive behind his murder? Is it to punish him for testifying several years ago (do you have any idea why someone waited this long to do it?) Was it to make an example for someone else who might want to testify? (If so, why make it look like a suicide?)
