It must be frustrating to think that way and yet have no ability to control what Trump supporters say.

Not at all. I didn't mean to suggest i wanted to stop you from saying anything, i was just letting you know that no one outside your little bubble care what you say about it.

Why does it even matter? Asking seriously.

it matters because it shows the slow degradation of our society.

the whole thing about wrestling in the mud with pigs thing....

We have to hold our side accountable, even if it gives the children on the other side something to cling on to. We can't give in to them just because we're afraid they might start high fiving each other.

We are better than them, but only if we act like it.

When you say someone "has no standing" it sounds as though you are declaring they have no right to speak.

I am perfectly free to criticize Pelosi, Trump or whoever else I want. You are free to disregard my opinions if you like, but as a Trump supporter I have the same "standing" to speak as you.

I know this is a difficult time for some, but this uptick in criticizing not only Trump, but "Trump and his supporters" is not really a healthy way of dealing with that angst, IMHO. Opinions may vary on that though.

There’s nothing little about that bubble you referenced.

Does she really need to show him respect or be gracious with him? Does anybody? The office of the President just doesn't command the respect it once did. Maybe with somebody else in there it can reclaim some of that, but this has been a long time coming.
So when the Republicans lost the white house for 8 years, the respect of the office was intact, it was only degraded after the Democrats lost the white house. I know the Democrats will yell about how mean Trump is and he is the one that undermined the dignity of the POTUS. but it is only fair to look at the behavior of he democratic party since Nov2016.

Didn't a Republican yell "you lie" to Obama during one of his State of the Union speeches?

This shirt is all basically the same unless I'm misunderstanding your point.

Lmao, child please. Really, Republicans respected Obama? :hahar: :hahar: :hahar:

You can go somewhere else with that. Need I remind you ...

So what you're implying is about half of the USA lives in a little bubble.

No, only about 1/3 of the country live in the little bubble. The other 10% or so who voted for Trump realize they are voting for an amoral sack of the tail end of a human centipede, but they just care about their money.

FYI, Trump's opponent in 2016 got more votes than any Republican presidential candidate in the history of the country.

So it is just republicans that have destroyed the dignity of the office of POTUS?

You are sincerely out of touch with what’s happening around you.
It’s more than a 1/3 at this junction in time.

I think we should be clear about the idea - it's not that Republicans have substantially damaged the dignity of the office of the POTUS . . . it's that Donald Trump has. He destroys the dignity of just about everything he gets involved in. Sure, presidents throughout history have had their moments of less than dignified behavior, including Obama and certainly Bill Clinton. But Trump's irresistible compulsion to belittle opponents and critics with schoolyard insults, to trash important American institutions and relationships with ill-conceived and petty rhetoric, and to turn the entire institution of the presidency into an unending campaign speech has damaged the dignity of the office far more than any other as a measure of both volume and magnitude.

I don't think it's fair to Republicans to attribute everything Trump does to the entire party. I don't even think Trump is a Republican, he's an opportunist and a demagogue. I look forward to a restoration of dignity when someone new is in the office - no matter that person's party.

Thanks for the well thought out and a very honest reply. I agree with you to an extent on past presidential behavior and for sure present presidential behavior. But I also think that the democratic politicians and the MSM has been just as guilty and in my opinion far more responsible for the degradation of dignity of the office of POTUS.
