This is going to need a thread as we move forward - there are now clear signs that Trump supports a new, critical if not dubious approach on vaccination, and his HHS nominee RFK Jr. regularly espouses eating raw milk and raw meat . . . dietary components most experts agree are more dangerous than their heated counterparts.

Health is certainly one of those areas were anti-institutionalism and turning to popular influencers over medical science comes with genuine risk of harm.

Today Trump provided his most clear indication that he is a vaccine skeptic - claiming (falsely of course) that the USA doesn't "do as well" as other nations that use no vaccines at all.

Vought, right now, is the most powerful person in DC. He runs the OMB and he, not Trump or congress or the courts, is deciding who gets what funding.
And just an added reminder of who Vought is:

That one goes out to all the people who said that Project 2025 was not going to happen and we were being silly little scaredy cats for believing that Project 2025 would happen.

By the way, those are the very same people that are telling us that Trump won't try to stay in power when his term is up and and we're being silly little scaredy cats for believing that Trump will try to stay in power when his term is up.

Those guys can go do something to themselves that is physically impossible for most people, but with how much they twist and contort themselves to defend Trump, it's probably a piece a cake for them to do that something to themselves.

It's been pointed out to me that I'm not capable of saying anything intelligent, so please forgive me if the paragraph above doesn't make sense.

They’re trying to set us back 50 years. Not even kidding.

Just want to remind everyone of these facts:
    • Catholics sent Europe backwards into the the Dark Ages by oppressing and suppressing knowledge to get complete power over everyone.
    • 5 of the 6 corrupt people on the Supreme Court are Catholics and the other one was raised Catholic and is currently Catholic adjacent.
    • The man who got all of those corrupt people on the Supreme Court has deep connections to Opus Dei, a fascist organization of Catholics. Several of the 6 corrupt judges on the Supreme Court also have multiple ties to members of Opus Dei. Opus Dei hates the current pope and did everything could to block him becoming pope.
    • Project 2025 is being used to set us back in knowledge, just like in the Dark Ages. Project 2025 was schemed up by and is being implemented by a self-described Christian Nationalist who wants America to be an emperor-Christian nation.
The biggest threat we all face right now is coming from fascist Christian extremists. White supremacists and Neo Nazis are a part of the fascist Christian extremist assault on us and our country.

I'm confident that even if we don't upload our health data ourselves, Trump and the billionaire tech bros will get their grubby little hands on it anyhow. This will be used for their benefit and most likely at our expense. It will not be used for our benefit.

This is going to be so forking bad. Any idiot willing to use this deserves the forkover they will get. I am sure this will never be used to deny insurance or affect employment.

I don't think anyone every deserves to be treated badly or harmed.

In a full authoritarian state, this can be used to decide who lives and who's murdered, "for the good of the state." Trump, most elected Republicans and many of the billionaire tech bros have made it clear they don't think everyone has a right to be alive, including Americans.

They will strip mine Epic. Epic is what is used by two major systems in NE Ohio, Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals and, I assume, other systems. It is an integrated communication system including any provider visits, test results, prescriptions etc. Since it is, I assume, cloud based it is inherently unsecure.

MyChart is also Epic and almost every medical provider in the country offers MyChart to their patients. I've been using it to help my dad stay on top of his healthcare.

Yup. Same here. One wonders how long before we here of a data breach.

I dont know why they are keeping the CDC it is rotting from within and will be totally useless soon.

At least three members of the CDC's Advisory Committee to the Director have been fired.

Epidemiologist Jennifer Nuzzo, DrPH, director of the Pandemic Center at the Brown University School of Public Health, announced her terminationopens in a new tab or window on LinkedIn. I've also confirmed that at least two other members of the committee have been removed, all without justification. One of the other terminated members, Natasha Bagdasarian, MD, MPH, also posted the newsopens in a new tab or window on LinkedIn. Bagdasarian is an expert in infectious diseases and public health, and is listed as a "chief medical executive" for the State of Michigan. A third new member also confirmed their termination status to me, but asked not to be named.

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. health officials have told more than a half-dozen of the nation’s top medical organizations that they will no longer help establish vaccination recommendations.

The government told the organizations on Thursday via email that their experts are being disinvited from the workgroups that have been the backbone of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

The organizations include the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

“I’m concerned and distressed,” said Dr. William Schaffner, a Vanderbilt University vaccine expert who for decades has been involved with ACIP and its workgroups.

He said the move will likely propel a confusing fragmentation of vaccine guidance, as patients may hear the government say one thing and hear their doctors say another.

One email said the organizations are “special interest groups and therefore are expected to have a ‘bias’ based on their constituency and/or population that they represent.”

A federal health official on Friday confirmed the action, which was first reported by Bloomberg.…..

More than half of American adults — 59 percent — say they do not expect to get the COVID-19 booster shot this autumn, according to new poll findings from health care policy group KFF.

Poll results show 23 percent of U.S. adult respondents said they will “probably not” get the vaccine, while 37 percent said they will “definitely not” get the shot.

Americans who said they will “probably” or “definitely” not get the shot were also more likely to say they think changes to U.S. vaccine policy are “major” and will make people less safe……

So now it will be the American council of brainworm picks.

Imagine if bird flu mutates to allow sustained human-to-human transmission. We've already seen documented cases of bird-to-human and even bovine-to-human transmission, so the final jump is not only possible—it’s increasingly likely.

Now consider RFK Jr.'s reckless suggestion to let poultry “naturally” develop immunity by allowing the infection to spread. If that approach were actually adopted, it could set the stage for a catastrophic outbreak, one that could make COVID-19 death tolls look modest by comparison.

Removing leading medical organizations from vaccine advisory roles at a time like this is deeply irresponsible. The risk isn’t just confusion—it’s lives lost due to fragmented and politicized guidance. :mad1: :sad1:
