Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.

This morning Trump took to Truth Social:



So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

Also worth noting that initially Parkistan and India said that Trump was not involved in making peace. They only changed it later - probably to stay on his "good side"

He apparently did opine about his true love, Putin, before leaving though.

Us getting involved in another war in the ME really undercuts any talking point about not supporting Ukraine.

Of course he did. And once Zelensky was confirmed, he bolted. He said what he had to say and wanted no part of appearing to favor Ukraine.

Especially when Canada and other countries are announcing new support packages for Ukraine. (Which is happening today).

Trump gonna stand up there with nothing to say or no security package to offer while everyone else is...is a bad look. And he all about optics.
