The failure comes just more than a month after the company’s seventh Starship flight also ended in an explosive failure. The back-to-back mishaps occurred in early mission phases that SpaceX has easily surpassed previously, indicating serious setbacks for a program Musk has sought to speed up this year.

Because in 2017 the top marginal tax rate was 39.6% and the new top marginal tax rate in 2018 is 37%. So the “Tax Cut and Jobs Act” of 2017 reduced the top marginal tax rate from 39.6% to 37%, a massive 2.6% reduction for top wage earners.

See, this is my problem. I asked you specifically what time frame you were referring to and you posted that yearly chart. Why not just clarify this in the first place instead of linking to something that failed to prove your point?

Every accusation is a confession. It’s just so so obvious. I can name a whole litany of things Musk has done or said to earn the scorn he currently receives. He probably deserves far more than he gets.

It seems the Tesla board and at least one executive think that Tesla stock hasn’t hit its low point yet. They have offloaded over $100M in stock since February.

ok this took me back 30+ years to my Finance 101 class. I remember my professor imploring us to use MorningStar and pay attention to their "Insider trading" section. This section was dedicated to show users what the executives were doing with their shares. If you saw multiple executives start to sell shares, it was a signal that there is some underlying issue within the company and to start paying close attention. Obviously its not a "tell all" but rather a signal that there may be an issue not public yet, but has them selling shares to avoid further loss of value. Because they know well before the public will know.

Tesla maybe in big trouble. Sales are down in all the major markets while the overall EV sales are up. As a car company, there is no way it can justify its 87 forward PE. As a tech company, it’s falling behind the Chinese EV companies.

Don't forget, Optimus will be in every us factory! You can pick the version. One has a person in it. It can dance and such. The other has a person controlling it via a vr headset 10 feet away!

Oohhh....autopilot will be ready last August. And this coming August. He promised....for the last 10 years!

Lastly, we need to colonize mars!!! Bc the earth will be unlivable? Yeah...OK.

he has marketed hopes and dreams for a decade now.

none of which have come to pass.

At some point, his promises will pass the event horizon, and everything will turn on a dime for Musk. ( not in a good way )

His foray into the political arena ( his hubris ) will be his undoing.

Oh I would argue he knew it was coming. The multitude of in investigations, his self dealings between his companies, his broken promises, increased competition which he couldn't keep up with, and tesla's numbers were so abysmal that some investors labeled it as a non-growth company.

Even starlink. Who are his customers? 100+ dollars for internet that won't work in inclement weather? And that's at a price that s below cost intended to take market share. Biden's infrastructure bill allowed for fiber which will give access for rural communities at a much more cost effective deal? Plus each satellite has a 5 year life span depending on how often it needs to use its fuel for say repositioning. Being generous, each launch costs 29 million....so he has to find a base revenue to compensate that. Cities? You have fiber and even cell towers. Yeah his markets will be undeveloped areas and lord knows they have money to burn. /s

I am a starlink customer. I don’t know about the effects snow has on the system but rainstorms don’t bother my reception. It’s a lot better that the old satellite systems.

Which may be, in part, his reasoning to get involved in the manner in which he did. Wouldnt surprise me in the least.

He isnt the genius many make him out to be - has always profited AFTER - based on the doings of his employees, yet basks in the sun rays they created.

Kudos to him for marketing - in that realm, he certainly excels.

I live in a small town just north of Elsinore. I saw this one at our local supermarket today. Spoke to the owner and told him I liked the sticker. He told me that he was exchanging it for a polestar next month. They are currently running a special when people exchange teslas for the new polestar

No, he’s just destroyed thousands of hard working Americans lives by taking away their jobs, and the healthcare that was part of that for themselves and their family members. That’s all….
And celebrated doing so in a smarmy way by clowning around with a chainsaw onstage at CPAC. He’s a piece of shirt person.

Musk is a very sick man... I have met this type in the gaming world before and they have absolutely no empathy for real people, For them RL is a game and winning is all that counts and real people are just another game piece.-

The ugly attitude towards elderly people is an inevitable result of the profoundly anti-human views and ideology of Musk and his compatriots in the tech billionaire world. Tech journalist Kara Swisher, who has covered Musk for decades now, explained to the New York Times that the billionaire views himself as "the person who matters the most," and that "everybody else is an N.P.C. — a nonplayer character," which is video game slang for preprogrammed characters in a video game.

Musk frames retired people in parasitical terms, not seeing them as those who have paid their dues and have earned their reward. In light of that, when he speaks of "waste" in Social Security, he's hinting at this broader view that retired people are inherently illegitimate. While he couches language like "vampire" and "fraud" in false claims that he's talking about illegal payments, the accumulated impact of his rhetoric is to demonize elderly people as a useless burden on society. When the end goal is "efficiency," it's easy to get to this view that retired people are an "inefficiency" and "redundancy" that should no longer be funded.

Musk hinted at this during his Rogan interview, complaining, "The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy, the empathy exploit." While insisting "you should care about other people," he made it clear this was rear-covering nonsense. His larger point was that empathy is "civilizational suicidal" and "the empathy response" is "a bug in Western civilization." The larger interview painted a picture of a man full of contempt for other people, with all their needs and subjective experiences, when he would rather they be compliant automatons who fulfill his demands without resistance. He fantasized about replacing people with "artificial intelligence" and robots, even talking up the incel-inflected dream of replacing women with sex robots.
