From the article, while he was in the courthouse, he was making disparaging social media posts against Carroll and the judge. The judge went so far as to instruct the jury not to use their real names, but pseudonyms. I can't imagine what it would be like to suffer from having someone send their army of online minions/zealots to enact retribution..

It is Trump’s second trial against the writer E. Jean Carroll, who won her first case against the former president last year when a jury found him liable for sexually abusing her in the 1990s and then defaming her in 2022. That jury ordered Trump to pay Carroll $5 million in damages.

The current trial concerns separate comments that Trump made about Carroll in 2019, while Trump was president. The jury’s job is to determine not whether Trump defamed Carroll in those comments — U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan has already ruled that he did — but simply how much Trump should pay her in damages. (Any award would come on top of the $5 million awarded in the 2023 trial.)

NEW YORK (AP) — Former President Donald Trump abruptly walked out on closing arguments in Manhattan federal court Friday as a lawyer for a writer seeking millions of dollars in damages for defamation urged a jury to send him a message to stop abuse of her client.

U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan interrupted the closing argument that the lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, was making on behalf of writer E. Jean Carroll to note for the record that Trump “just rose and walked out of the courtroom.”

The walkout occurred shortly after closing began and minutes after the judge threatened to send Trump attorney Alina Habba to jail for continuing to talk when he told her she was finished.

“You are on the verge of spending some time in the lockup. Now sit down,” the judge told Habba.

Roberta Kaplan and the judge are unrelated.

Trump had appeared agitated all morning, vigorously shaking his head during Kaplan’s closing arguments.…….

looks like even before he gets birch slapped with this judgment a third may be in the works. will he ever stop hanging himself by his own tongue?

    Yep, not surprising.

( I love how he stormed out, then blamed the judge)

Trump used his time outside the courtroom to attack the judge as "an extremely abusive individual" on social media. "Judge Kaplan is refusing me my Constitutional Right to Due Process, to defend myself against this False Accusation," he wrote. "This is a one-sided trial, where the other side is allowed everything, and we are allowed nothing."

    (meanwhile the judge was like)
“The record will reflect that Mr. Trump just rose and walked out of the courtroom,”

The jury has reached a verdict. Looks like they only needed a couple of hours to deliberate.

Jury has come in, total of $83.3 M, $65M punitive.
On top of the previous $5M judgment.

So I heard on TV an estimate that he may have $400M liquid. Total. And he has to put the $83.5M amount up in a bond before he appeals. I love that for him, lol.

And James asked for almost $300M, right?

What’s the over/under on the number of hours before the “Donste to help me fight this biased far left judge” emails start hitting?
