I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

It's quite simple. Show me my words, liar.

I think one of the worst things a person can be is a liar...a known liar.

    You did.
What about a racist, is that up there with liar?

That only counts if they think differently than they do.

This isn’t about calling someone we disagree with a Nazi

It’s about someone showing up somewhere dressed as an actual Nazi

You either think that’s okay or you don’t

And we can’t all get our information from Glenn Greenwald
On halloween. Do you not find context to be appropriate?

I posted this in the media tracker thread. But it could just as easily go here.
You were shown multiple times that CRT was being taught in schools, and yet you continue to claim otherwise. You were shown that one of those controversial books was on the recommended reading lists and you still denied while trying to deflect and focus on the moms of liberty. I'm noticing a trend.

if you just keep saying things that are false, that doesn’t make them true. that’s your trend for sure, lol.

CRT hasn’t been taught in any significant way in schools. Certainly not grade schools or middle schools. That is just a lie told by Republicans. A case could be made for teaching some elements of CRT in high school, but I am not aware of any cases where it’s actually being taught. And you’re not either.

If it were being taught - wouldn’t we have seen evidence of it by now? Why did Youngkin quietly close his much ballyhooed tip line? Because there weren’t any cases being reported.

What you showed was that a book used to be on a reading list for a middle school somewhere, but it was removed. One place. So that’s actually pretty underwhelming. And it’s not CRT in any case.

You never answered why books that are award-winning like Maus are being removed from schools. You never answered whether you support the removal of books like Beloved and Maus and Everywhere Babies. Because Moms for Liberty are definitely going after these books too.

It’s literally the opposite of deflection to talk about Moms for Liberty. You brought them into the discussion after all. 🤦‍♀️

Textbook (no pun intended) straw man that won this idiot the governor's race.

This is an astroturfed movement to ban books dealing with any aspect of LBGTQ people, or people of color. It’s why a picture book about babies was targeted merely because some of the people walking with babies drawn as illustrations were same sex couples. Never mind that it was never asserted that the two people walking with a baby were the parents of the baby. Two women walking with a baby (illustrations, mind you, not photos) - this book needs to go! Moms for Liberty is only one organization that is being funded in this effort, there are others. They have created websites for local members showing them which books to target, how to target them, what passages to object to, etc. Basically how to get books banned from schools. Who is paying for all this? We don’t know for sure.

So no rant or tweet wall decrying censorship when it comes to CRT and book banning?

Here's a few examples from this NYT Newsletter, but this was posted before so I don't expect you to admit it was happening.

Was it books or the whole judgement from parents after finding out, oddly because of covid, what exactly the 'teachers' were 'teaching' thingy?

    Absolutely not

    Dressing up as a:

    Nazi - Never okay

    Hitler - Super never okay

    Klansman - Super never okay

    Blackface - Never okay

Slavery blackface - Super never okay
What about a play or film, can someone receive permission to dress up as those things then? Where and who would one contact in order to do this?

Is everyone really so soft that they can't handle seeing a person in a costume on Halloween?
While I will agree it may be inappropriate in some instances, on Halloween, come on. Now one will dress up as Hitler on Halloween and invade Poland the next day. That is just silly emotionally weak people that have to feel virtuous because they managed to get upset over something.

    So you are pro-censorship.
    Isn't everyone to some degree?
I am pro-censorship when it comes to keeping erotica out of the hands of children?
Is that what we are discussing really? Aged censorship and the supply of material that is in debate?
