    This will have a major impact on how criminal trials for some individuals are handle at the state level for Native Americans. Gorsuch sided with the liberal justices again in this opinion. This'll likely be in question plenty of past prosecutions already done at the state level.

    That is just plain huge! That state has more per 100k than Louisiana and we lock people up cuz they look at you funny.
     
    A good write up on it. I can see how Gorsuch and Roberts are just consistent with how they apply the law. Roberts likes to add some reason to it and put things together, Gorsuch usually doesn't. He sticks to the text. It can make it look like they bounce back and forth, but as SuperChuck likes to say, judges aren't simply 'liberal or conservative', it's more complicated.

     
    I think Gorsuch makes a good point. Just because those in power, who have a vested interest in eliminating the thing given, chip away at something, doesn't mean it's gone. And just because it was allowed in some cases, it doesn't make it legal. Just an abuse of power.
