SCOTUS will deny. Call me naive, but Trump is gone in 2028. his approval will keep dropping.

He will already be the oldest president ever. He stands an extremely good chance of dying in office if could magically run/win a third term.

I said this in another thread, but part of Trump’s loss in 2020 was just everyone’s fatigue of checking their phone every day.
I don’t see a difference even if he ran in 28.
    Which he won’t.
Most voters side with Ukraine. Trumps would be successor has no chance if he/she felt the same way

I’m sensing so much disgust with what he is doing to the Country. Even if he illegally tries for a 3rd term, I think he would lose. Too many are suffering to keep this turkey in office.

It pains me to say this, but Trump won against 2 women. The USA is not ready for a female leader. The
Democrats need to nominate a white man in the next election

I don't think the failure is the gender of the candidate.

I will always feel like the weird primary proccess is the root of all of the party's current woes. They need to foster an enviroment of competitive, and fair challenges at the primary level. The point should not be to get "your guy" through the process, but the best candidate for the party to win.

I personally don't care if that's AOC, Newsom, Waltz, Buttigieg.

Did people just forget about that fatigue in 2024?

I recently read a comment that basically said "You know what I loved most about Joe Biden? I didn't have to think about Joe Biden. I didn't spend every day worrying about every mean/stupid thing he just said or did. I went days, sometime weeks without thinking about Joe Biden"

Agreed. The problem wasn't necessarily Kamala, but time and her predecessor. She had a 3-month campaign to run. And the mistakes she made, which could have likely been corrected and forgotten (like not completely severing ties with Biden) over a normal election cycle was still fresh in that 3-month campaign.

As long as it isn't Gavin Newsom, I could care less who it is.

Please just stop. The media coverage of this is so stupid. It would be like media being like “Chuck’s Daughter Aims to get Pony for Christmas” - it’s not reality.

Every article should lead with the fact that Trump cannot have a third term . . . because we aren’t going to amend the Constitution and if he does it any other way, we no longer have a Constitution and it’s no longer a “term”.

I'll bring up Nate Silver again. He polled black owned barbershops in Philadelphia Pa. It showed Trump with a slight
lead among customers. It's when I started having a bad feeling about the election.

I think for the most part, yeah.
But the GOP is gonna suffer in the 28 election.

    They've pissed Chuck off

The media often eggs Trump on in these delusions because it drives outrage coverage. But Trump uses that to normalize the delusions and outlandish thoughts so that he can make them a reality. Then people just go, "oh, well it's not like he hasn't been talking about it" when it happens. You're right, this isn't something that should even be entertained. The media shouldn't ask him about it or even muse about it. They should reject it out of hand and whenever he or his administration brings it up, the media response universally should be, "You know that's highly unconstitutional, right!" The end.

That's one of the reasons I've stopped watching mainstream news. They're supposed to be a backstop that forces accountability in the administration in our democratic republic. (and for some reason they're able to do that when Democrats are in office), but all they do with Trump is capitulate, ease their coverage for conservatives and in the end normalize his rancid "thoughts". I'm tired of that game.

You’re correct about the second half.

Who are you telling to stop? This isn’t hypothetical any more. It’s him. He’s saying it.

Putting your head in the sand isn’t gonna make it any better.
