He has been routinely calling Canada the 51st state and referring to PM Trudeau as Gov Trudeau. I'm sure Canadians are loving this disrespect.

Denmark will definitely not give up Greenland. Some of his Oligarks wants it due to its rich mineral ressources but Denmark has put very strong environmental blocks on any kind of mining. You just don't "demand" that a country give up part of its territory

I suspect that Trump plans on trying to negotiate some new favored canal rates for US shipping - and this is his tactic (basically a shake down with threats). But the idea itself isn’t horrible if the means are unsettling.

But most commercial shipping of US goods isn’t done by US firms anyway. I guess it would have to be based on the nature/origin of the cargo to be able to apply a preference to US goods. Canal fees are based on the size and purpose of the ship - so they would have to overhaul all of that.
