Have they not already? Thou shall not kill is codified in our law. Thou shall not steal is codified in our law. Adultery, although never prosecuted is codified.
If that is not up for interpretation, then #1 and #2 should not be either but I have a hunch you disagree.

No, they haven't. There are secular reasons to criminalize murder and theft. The fact that there also happen to be religions that oppose those things has nothing to do with it. Do you have a secular reason to ban abortion?

If a group of Muslims can elect enough folks to pass the laws, then not much I can do about it. I would be against it and would be very vocal of my opposition just as I would have been vocal and against prohibitions in the early 1920s.

    Why would you oppose it?

Well, since the reason, by your statement, thou shall not kill is secular, then I will go with that as to a secular reason to ban abortion.

    I like to drink.

You've already said that your view that abortion is murder stems from your religious beliefs, though. That's not secular.

    I like to drink.

Women like access to healthcare without government interference. You have zero consistency within your positions.

Most of my views stem from my religion. It is a big part of who I am. Your religion is a big part of who you are and it shapes your morals as well. You can say you don't have a religion, but you clearly do, you just don't call it a religion.

A woman can go see a Doctor and receive healthcare, who says she can't? Unless....
The right to healthcare is also the right to murder? I guess the death penalty is really just a quick a medical check up then.

Many things, both religion and others, go into shaping people's views. That has nothing to do with whether or not those views should become laws that bind everyone.

What secular reasons do you have for wanting to ban abortion?

    killing a life without representation

A fetus is not a viable human. It is a clump of cells with the potential to become a human - with the assistance of a host. Therefore not murder; unless you consider menstration and masturbation murder (the latter the Catholic Church did/ does consider a sin so).

And btw, there is nothing secular, nor self-determinate about that in the slightest. Two of the most American of principles.

There is no argument for the fetus that you can make that is secular. You have to attach the ridiculous of a “soul” to it and that is religious. And ridiculous.

No. You've already said that this is your religious view. Do you have any secular arguments for banning abortion?
You are denying a human life the chance at life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Do they have an abortion procedure where the child gets to be born and have a chance at life?

Are you claiming that life begins at conception?

Are you claiming that life begins at conception?
Me? Oh no. I am not smart enough to claim that. Biology does though and I am a huge supporter of science so I do think life begins when a zygote is formed.

When do you think life begins?

    @Farb -

What rights have the “alt-left” taken from you? None?

    Ok…

What laws have been proposed maybe?
    None?

    So….

Who is the alt left? Let’s start there. Can you help me out with who that is?
How do you feel about a citizen owning a fully automatic firearm? (that to the top 2)

@CoolBrees, I think you are alt-left. Nothing to be ashamed of. I am sure you consider me alt-right (I agree with you too, I am alt-right)

Now, since you were curious earlier, I am about to close up and head home and get blind drunk grilling and watching football so I won't be on. Have a good weekend my dude.

This is quite a turnaround in the last half hour. Can you show me your biological evidence for life beginning at conception?

I cynically wonder the the GOP really wants Roe overturned

There are a significant number of people who are one issue voters and their one issue is abortion

I remember reading in 2016 that some said they only voted for Trump so he could appoint a Supreme Court justice for this very reason

If abortion is banned where are those voters going?

Why does God murder? How many babies has He aborted? Millions? Billions? His Holy Word says zero about life beginning at conception and treats abortion as a, well, misdemeanor.

Here is the bottom line about abortion. It’s legality is irrelevant. Religious claims, in particular Christian claims, about abortion are irrelevant as the only source of Deity allegedly commenting on it is scripture and scripture does not treat the subject in the manner that religionists wish. Abortion will continue no matter what the 6 idiots on the SCOTUS spew. The difference is that wealthy women with means and particularly wealthy white women who desire to obtain an abortion will be able to do so.

Abortion will continue and the class and racial warfare which are the overtones will continue as well.

Please feel free to continue ignoring me.
