Hello all,
This is my first post here so I hope that I’m following the rules correctly.
I’m very concerned about the proposed cuts to Medicaid. I have two boys, ages 13 and 11. They both are moderate to severe autistic. My youngest wears a diaper and is non verbal. My oldest has no sense of danger and will walk away with a stranger or touch a hot pan on the stove. They both require special schooling, constant monitoring, special doctors, etc. My youngest has a list of allergies a mile long. He can only eat a few things without having an allergic reaction that requires an EpiPen shot.
I mention just a few of their obstacles because if it was not for Medicaid/medi-Cal, I would not be able to pay for all the care that they need. The special formula that my youngest needs to drink daily. The EpiPens for both my boys, the numerous specialist doctors that they both have to see, etc etc etc. These things are all paid for through Medicaid/medi-cal.
Please know that Medicaid for millions and millions of families in the USA is a lifesaver in so many ways. It’s loss or cut of funds will devastate so many Americans lives.
I called my Reps office to complain about the cuts. If you feel that cutting these funds is wrong, please let your Reps know too.
This is not to mention that my wife works at another Federal Agency and they are scared that their jobs and careers are about to be destroyed. Please know that these are good Americans and the vast majority do not deserve this.
Sorry for the vent but we as a family feel very desperate and on edge. Take care and let your Reps know that families and Children will be hurt by these heartless cuts to funding. Thanks
