To me this is a logical decision. Wray has been protecting Biden for some time now. Unfortunately Wray chose bias over the law and he deserves to be held accountable.

So an FBI agent reports unverified hearsay from a unnamed source in the beginning of 2020 alledging misdeed by Biden. Knowing how the republicans work they will use it as "evidence" even though there is no actual evidence of any misdeeds by Biden. Also opposite Trump, Biden have been very upfront about his money, releasing 25 years of tax returns

Wray told the House that they could come to the FBI and view the document any time they want. Plus Wray is a lifelong Republican appointed by Trump.

Isn’t this part of a group of documents that was handed over by Rudy Giuliani? I understand that Barr was so skeptical of Rudy’s docs that he gave them to a US attorney to investigate and nothing came of that.

Add to that Grassleys statements that the GOP was no interested in whether or not these allegations are true and that they were going to release this document as soon as they got it, and I think it’s clear what is going on here.

I would argue that the OP was exactly backwards. Wray may be biased, in favor of the republicans. He knows that they are going to use this to dirty up Biden, and are going to look foolish doing so, so he’s trying to keep them from doing that.

Explain what you think is happening here and how Wray's conduct in allowing review of the document but not transferring custody of it amounts to "choosing bias over the law".

FYI, congressional contempt is meaningless - it comes with no penalty. It has to be enforced in district court in order to come with an order or a penalty and there's no way that would happen on these facts.

I expect that people are laughing at your opening post because Wray is a Republican, who was appointed by Republican. to lead an agency that has always been dominated by Republicans, because Democrats generally find their advancement blocked by Republicans if they attempt to enter the field of law enforcement.

And then you say he's protecting Biden???

What's actually has been protecting Biden is the fact that he's kept his nose clean insofar as being criminal. As have I. Law abiding, but not all that fond of our Law Enforcement hierarchies.
