As I posted in another thread liberals seem to me to want illegals into the country but not in their own states and cities. This is another example. I feel Newsom needs to concentrate on his own state as it is quickly falling apart with a vast array of problems.

California has its own border unlike Florida.

California has a 70 billion dollar surplus. They are a net giver to the fed as the give over $2 in taxes for every $1 they take

They have the fifth largest gdp in the world.

All without the benefit of a federal tax base

They are the best run state in America.

I'm certain the irony is lost on OP when he stated this. De Santis flies migrants from TEXAS to CALIFORNIA on FL's tax-payer's dime. And yet, it's Newsome who has to mind his own business? It's his state that these migrants were dumped. Where and how is FL involved here? And as Newsome pointed out, unlike MV, California has a well defined human trafficking statute.

I make it a point to refer to Native Americans as being Native Americans, rather than to refer to them as illegals. Most of the people who have been transported various states by bus or by airplane have been Native Americans.

That's the large issue for me. Beyond that I do hope that some kind of criminal trafficking charges are brought against DeSantis because that political stunt h's been pulling is a form of an assault of some kind.

A form of using people like they are things.

My initial impulse is to say that the aircraft should not have been allowed to deboard and the pilot directed to return to Florida, but I would be concerned about the disposition of the passengers. Option 2 is that the pilots and owner of the aircraft be held accountable and the aircraft that flew them in seized by the State. This would put a damper on any future activity of this nature.

Newsom did an interview where he seems to hint that there was indeed criminality and anyone involved may be prosecuted. Alas his comments were murky as there are investigations that needed to be done. I personally don't think much will come of it. The threat though lead to Florida officials releasing highly edited videos of migrants signing docs.

Documents that they could not read? And the amplification that they were mislead?

Yes, if this operation is like the others the people were lied to and threatened with deportation if they didn’t go. Or falsely promised that help and jobs were waiting on them.

I'm certain there were deceits such as below. I just find it difficult to prosecute this because Fl will declare they were truthful about how they advertise through their interpreter. That these migrants may have misunderstood. To be clear, Desantis is scum for doing this.

In El Paso, three migrants who were approached by the contractors but decided not to go with them said the offers were vague and suspicious. They said that though the contractors appeared friendly, they pushed aggressively for migrants to board flights and insisted on seeing the documents border agents had given them.
When a Venezuelan woman told the contractors she didn’t want to go to California but was trying to get to New York, one told her that “people in California” would book her flights to New York once she landed, she said. The woman asked that her name not be used because she was unsure of the contractors’ identities and feared repercussions if they returned. Other migrants who turned down the contractors expressed similar fears.
