A federal judge in New York blocked the Trump administration from deporting a prominent Palestinian activist who was arrested over the weekend for helping lead protests last spring at Columbia University.
District Judge Jesse Furman scheduled a hearing for Wednesday that all parties are required to attend — and in the meantime, Mahmoud Khalil cannot be deported from the country.
