Oh, but he's only joking - well, maybe, so they say. Or sort of joking with Canada, and maybe not joking with Greenland - saying that "ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity" doesn't sound like a joke . . . and um, not sure about what the about Panama Canal thing is?

Vance made a fool out of himself again - badmouthing Canada on Twitter, he made two posts about how Canada is flooding the US with fentanyl and he’s sick of being taken advantage of by Canada. Luckily there was a Community Note to point out that a grand total of 43 lb of fentanyl has been seized coming from Canada to the US, while there were over 900 lbs seized by Canada coming from the US.

    How are they so stupid?

CNN) — Mexico will take Google to court if maps shown to US-based users continue to label the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America across the entire body of water, President Claudia Sheinbaum said Monday, arguing that US President Donald Trump’s order to rename it only applies to the part of the continental shelf under US control.

“What Google is doing here is changing the name of the continental shelf of Mexico and Cuba, which has nothing to do with Trump’s decree, which applied only to the US continental shelf,” Sheinbaum told reporters. “We do not agree with this, and the Foreign Minister has sent a new letter addressing the issue.”

Sheinbaum said the renaming is “incorrect,” adding that Trump’s decree “only changed the name within his own continental shelf, which extends 22 nautical miles from the US coast—not the entire Gulf.”

Last week, Google renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America for US-based users of Google Maps, citing “a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources.” People in Mexico continue to see the body of water listed as the Gulf of Mexico. All other countries see both names……

i got 3.10 more years of waking up every day to see some dumb statement, dumb idea or dumb thought put out for all to see just how dumb it truly is.

And all by our current POTUS.

His plan to destroy the office of the Presidency, its legacy and its gravitas, along with the rest of our democratic processes and bureaucracy, as well as our global status, is well underway.

Remember when wearing a tan suit was a major sin?

    LOL.

    Thats a MAN baby!
I can't quite work out whether it was created by someone as a ludicrously over-the-top satire, but they've so completely lost the plot that they saw it and went, "Yes, actually, that looks good to us," or whether someone in the cult made it sincerely, which leaves the bearded belly-dancers unexplained.

This article - https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...trump-shares-ai-created-video-reimagined-gaza - suggests some of the truth.social crowd weren't so keen on it though:

some are speculating that it was done purposefully- to troll Trump/MAGA- the kid tasked with AI creation told it to put bearded ladies. lol.

Not sure how plausible that is. My thinking is they just asked for ME belly dancers and got that creation. Thanks AI

    LOL

Trumps first cabinet meeting. EU now target.

He/They are crazy... He doesn’t like the EU because individual countries standing together undermines his strategy of intimidation and threats.

He also despises the EU because of its strict rules—rules that he (and Musk) hate—on embezzlement, privacy, and the environment. Trump believes no rules apply to him or his oligarchs.

But most of all, he loathes the EU because it stands firmly in support of an independent and free Ukraine.

Correct. in direct contradiction to his boss, Putin.

Every so often, you can glean a glimpse of the real Trump- unfettered by handlers and speech writers. This is one of those times.

pretty much sums up my thinking

I think you have this all wrong. To Trump, this is all transactional and it’s all about his brand. I think he is in reality an agnostic when it comes to political ideology. He adopts whatever will work best for him. Putin isn’t viewed as anything other than a competitor and Trump views Ukraine a just another deal to be made. That has been his whole life and that is how he views people and the world and how he approaches problem solving. It’s all about making a deal. Everything is a deal. Musk is the same way.

To a business person, this is all about deals and money and the country as one big business. To a politician, it’s 95 percent ideology and money is just a number on a computer screen. There needs to be some balance between the two. You can’t run a country like you would run a business and you can’t run a country ignoring economics and money. There is no reason many sound business processes and controls can’t be applied to business.

We have been ignoring our finances for decades. I don’t disagree with the notion that we need to reorganize. I would go about it in a different way. This Musk/Trump approach may work but it may be more difficult than it needs to be. There are financial professionals all across the country that have been doing this kind of work for decades. There is no reason to reinvent the wheel with people inexperienced in turnarounds and reorganizations.

Yeeesh...where to begin? You addressed 4 different, non contextual issues there.

So I'll focus on you quoting my text. It was in reference to Trump's comments on the EU and it's formation was solely to "screw the US".

Do you agree with that statement?

No. But I can see why Trump may view it that way. The EU is just another entity to him. He sees the current deal as too one sided.
