    Because he thinks an off hand comment Biden made or supposedly said based on the text I saw on here (I don’t know if he actually said it) and then someone trying to shoot Trump is supposed to mean Biden is responsible which is absolutely stupid.

    Yeah, but that won't stop them, especially Trump. The rhetoric of political violence was high before this coming out of the right, it's only going to get worse. But it's that very rhetoric that drives unstable people to attempt this type of violence.

    Of course nobody will really be talking about that though.

    Collins is an idiot for saying that, but do you think it's necessary at this point to be demanding people condem others for what they've said about the shooting?

    We know barely anything about what happened.

    We all know the Republicans will paint it as the opposition sanctioned this as a hit job. Trump already claimed Biden sent the FBI to assassinate him at mar a largo, when recovering all those classified documents he had

    What’s unnecessary about expecting members of congress not respond this way in the wake of an assassination attempt? Maybe the problem is we have no standards for these people? And what’s out of place in asking somebody their thoughts, who had just condemned comments made in this thread, when nothing any of us say really matters?

    You should have just stopped after "Collins is an idiot for saying that".

    The whole "but" part....yes it's necessary to condemn a sitting congressman for saying Biden is behind this.

    The real "but" is you can't condemn without some other faux equivalent.

    You end your post with "we barely know....about shooting" and Collins is immediately calling Biden as calling for the attempt.
