I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

Jesus H. Christmas! So check out this "memo" Clyburn sent to the Members of the Select Subcommittee about the political interference by senior Trump Administration appointees at the CDC. The first link is to the rest of this really long "memo." The second link is to the actual emails that Dr. Paul Alexander - who isn't an MD, just a PhD by the way (oh the hypocrisy) - sent to others in the administration and the CDC to shape the narrative being pushed by the administration in the summer of 2020 trying to discredit Dr. Fauci (who is an MD!!!) and the scientific community who were doing their best to tell people the truth so they could protect themselves from coronavirus. I'm even more disgusted by this. Shows they were trying to push herd immunity even before that genius Dr. (who should have his license stripped) Scott Atlas got involved. I'm kind of disappointed that this didn't even make the national news yesterday and I still haven't heard anything about it today. (Well, I take that back. Kristen Welker just reported on it for MSNBC and Andrea Mitchell has guests on talking about it as we speak.)

Chairman Clyburn Releases Memo With New Evidence of Political Interference in Pandemic Response | House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis

And here's the tweet that caused me to find the documentation in the first place. "We want them infected" is a quote I didn't find and I'm not going to try to get to the end of that link because it's 70 pages long and I'm burnt out after reading the first 29 pages.

I saw something on that yesterday, but was too revolted to post about it. Some of these people...well I can't say it here in public, what I wish upon them

    Treason.

I've said it before, if Covid were a human foe, Trump would be in front of a firing squad. Along with much of his Administration.
For real. We've lost more American lives to coronavirus in like 10 months than we did for the entire span of WWII. I saw someone on twitter suggesting negligent homicide charges for people who were complicit in covering up the truth about coronavirus and its lethality (is that even a word? spellcheck didn't notice it - but it also apparently thinks that spellcheck is one word too) but that would suggest that they were merely negligent and didn't actually know the repercussions of what they were actively covering up.

forking butt crevasse... this shirt should be a crime. Arrest all of them for malfeasance, dereliction of duty, and whatever else we can throw at them.

    :mad1:

It really should. Everyone in the country needs to read this and realize how little this administration and it's elected enablers care about the people.

Good God. If you really want to see how much of a stable genius this "doctor" Paul Alexander is, go ahead and read his suggestions to Dr. Redfield on what should have been done concerning the beginning of COVID season this past Spring. I wish I could copy and paste the text here but it's a PDF.

It's on page 60 of 70 and starts with "Good night Dr. Redfield."

ETA: Then page 68 there's some wonderful instructions about not revealing something to the public about a YMCA in Georgia that was apparently the cause of some considerable spread of the virus - if I'm understanding it correctly.

And even then it only works on about 15% of them maybe. I mean look at Scalise. He gets gunned down and comes back even worse than before.

Other than Christie I don't remember seeing any other republican that got Covid come back afterwards and say this is a big deal we need to get a handle on it.

    I've posted this before.

Even after they find themselves in the same boat some (many?) still don’t have any empathy for others in the boat with them, or will be in the boat later

Still have the "I'm different and this is different" mentality

Bro, stop being such a moocher. You're the worst kind of Transformer ever made.

It's hard to get through not just because of how vile it is, but this butt crevasse has no concept of complete sentences, paragraphs, or punctuation.

    I agree.

So, there's this Congresswoman-elect on Twitter who thinks that she's sticking it to the libs by having 100 people over for Christmas. When I commented that her infecting her family and friends with COVID wouldn't be so funny she reported me and got me banned for a week. Her name is Boebert or something. These clowns sure are bad arses talking a big game but sure are sensitive when you call them out for it.

Almost like they're all some sort of special and unique thing that melts under the slightest bit of heat...

She’s from Colorado. The western slope went ‘full retard’ with her — she’s practically a caricature.
