Figured we should start a separate thread on the arrests and those involved in the storming of the Capitol. I know it has been talked about in the other thread a lot, but for the ones who just want to follow the ones arrested and/or charged, this will be an easier way to see updates on the investigations.

Doesn't surprise me at all that Penn had the 2nd most people arrested for this. Much of rural PA is a hotbed for rednecks and white supremacy....it is really sad....

Plea deals could be in the works for a Delaware man who carried a large Confederate flag through the Capitol on January 6 – becoming one of the most visible photographs from the siege of the building.

Kevin Seefried and his son, Hunter, were arrested in Delaware a week after the Capitol riot on charges of unlawfully entering a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Prosecutors said the men entered the Capitol building through a broken window.

In court documents, investigators said the Seefrieds were identified after the FBI was told by a coworker of Hunter’s that he had bragged about being in the Capitol with his father..........

general side note - It is amazing, sad and disheartening that Jan 6th is being treated as a distant history and/or it wasn't as bad as it looked and/or what really happened was different than what we saw happened

Just as amazing, sad and disheartening is how many people who were there and entered the Capitol are still proud as can be about it

A federal judge denied bond Tuesday for two Capitol riot defendants accused of pepper spraying police, saying that, despite their arguments to the contrary, it was clear to him they intended to assault officers on January 6.

Attorneys for Julian Khater and co-defendant George Tanios had spent weeks formulating arguments and submitting character testimony supporting the release of their clients. In Khater’s case, that included a highly unusual proposal for a $15 million bond secured by property from 16 family members.

Khater, a 32-year-old Pennsylvania resident, and Tanios, of West Virginia, are accused of purchasing bear spray and pepper spray before traveling to D.C. on January 6. Once there, federal investigators say the men joined in the Capitol riot. Surveillance and body camera video obtained by WUSA9 after a court challenge appears to show the men assaulting police, including Officer Brian Sicknick, with pepper spray.

Defense attorneys argued for weeks that the men only used pepper spray in self-defense after being sprayed themselves. On Tuesday, D.C. District Court Judge Thomas F. Hogan shot that argument down, saying video from January 6 shows Khater spraying officers twice, 74 seconds apart.

Hogan also rejected an argument from the defense that bear spray and pepper spray are legal in D.C., calling it a “red herring.”

“You can bring a pocket knife to D.C., which is legal, but at the point you use it on police it is illegal,” Hogan said. “Obviously they had some intention to use the product. It seems they definitely planned it at that point. The only targets they were worried about using the spray to attack were the police. They weren’t going to attack the other rioters.”................

U.S. Marine Major Christopher Warnagiris arrested for participating in Capitol riot​

Court documents say that after Warnagiris violently entered the Capitol he positioned himself in the corner of the doorway and used his body to prop the door open and pull other rioters inside.

Video surveillance footage shows Warnagiris pushing a cop who tried to shut the door.

The Pentagon had no immediate comment on the arrest, which occurred Thursday morning in Virginia

If you are active duty in the military at the time of the crime, it’s covered under the UCMJ. I’m some cases you could be punished by both. DUIs for example are not military infractions unless on a base, but you will get punished by the military if you get one.

• A GOP lawmaker who claimed there was "no insurrection" on January 6 was photographed barricading the House during the siege.
• Rep. Andrew Clyde said the rioters on January 6 resembled a "normal tourist visit."
• But the congressman was photographed helping to push furniture against the doors of the House chamber.

A federal grand jury has added six new counts Friday in a superseding indictment against a Maryland man accused of entering the U.S. Capitol with a handgun.

Christopher Alberts was arrested January 6 after police reportedly discovered him on the Capitol grounds during the riot armed with a Taurus G2C 9mm handgun. In a statement of facts filed at the time, investigators said Alberts was also found to have had a spare magazine and a gas mask on his person.

At the time, Alberts reportedly told police he had the firearm for personal protection and that he “did not intend on using the firearm to harm anyone.”

A federal grand jury indicted Alberts in January on four counts, including unlawful possession of a firearm on Capitol grounds, carrying a pistol without a license and possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device.

On Friday, the Department of Justice filed a superseding indictment adding six more counts, including two counts alleging Alberts engaged in physical violence while in the Capitol building or a restricted grounds and one count of assaulting federal officers. Because Alberts is accused of being armed with a handgun at the time, each of those charges could carry 10-to-20 years in prison with a dangerous weapon enhancement............
