This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

So after passing a massive tax cut for the wealthy and mega corporations, they are now starting to pivot back to fiscal conservatism and talking about all this debt, because a (D) is now president.

I would love to see AOC dog walk her in a debate... the comments to her self-own tweet are solid gold jerruh... she's been howling about the Green New Deal and can't even take the time to read the bill which is all of 14 pages long?

I don’t think there are many Congressfolk who wouldn’t smoke MTG in a debate. The subject doesn’t even matter.

MTG would win in a cakewalk unless the moderator is absolutely draconian.
It'd be the GOP equivalent of the Gish Gallop all over the place.
Debating someone who only wants to spew bullshirt simply gives them the opportunity to do it in your face.

I just today saw a quote from her on the Jan. 6 insurrection that I hadn’t heard before. It was that we simply cannot allow a peaceful transition of power or something. It was just a quick snippet and maybe there was context missing, but my god, she should be removed from the House if she meant it the way it sounded.

Oh, and I love the way she says “all 14 pages”. Hilarious.

Cheney seems poised to challenge Trump for the nomination in 2024. Don't think she'll win it but, at this point, she doesn't have much to lose.

I think she posted it on Parler, if I had to guess. That’s where PatriotTakes gets most of their content.

Yeah, but the screenshot looks exactly like a Twitter post. I guess maybe she did post it on Parler, but I'm not about to go look there to see if she did. She ain't worth the effort.

As much as I'd like that to be true, Comstock is one of the original 'Never-Trumpers' and they (although I obviously agree with them) have a tendency to undersell Trump's lock on the party. It's not going away. I'm also steering clear of any mainstream polling as most were significantly off the mark in 2020. Sadly, Rasmussen and Trafalgar were most accurate (although I'm still convinced Trafalgar just lucked into it as Robert Cahaly never really shares his methodology).

Yeah, agree with all this. :9:

Maybe, but, I'm not sure those numbers are entirely accurate when Trump is hovering just slightly above 30% approval rating. A lot of Republicans still do need to wake up though.

The problem is that 24% favorable, in the right places, gets you the White House.
Trump owns the GOP. Why? Because they believe he does.

I'm usually the first to argue that perception isn't reality, but in this case it is.
