Now that the AG is in, she appears to be ready to do Trump’s bidding.

None of us really knew at the time, but while Garland may have been a good choice for the SC, he was a bad choice for AG at the time. I wish that Biden could go back in time and select and AG that would have come in with that type of energy to prosecute Trump and Jan 6th henchmen up front and make no bones about it. The "trying to appear" fair thing totally failed.

Biden has come out and admitted as much

The FBI is preparing to disband a team of specialists charged with combatting foreign threats to US elections, a source familiar tells CNN.

The shuttering of the FBI Foreign Influence Task Force and planned reassigning of team membersfollows a directive from incoming US Attorney General Pam Bondi dissolving the team.

“To free resources to address more pressing priorities, and end risks of further weaponization and abuses of prosecutorial discretion, the Foreign Influence Task Force shall be disbanded,” Bondi wrote in a memo issued Wednesday.

The special task force was established by former FBI Director Christopher Wray in 2017 following a wave of foreign influence operations targeting the US electoral process, including Russia’s efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election that Trump won.

Wray previously said the purpose of the team was “to identify and counteract the full range of malign foreign influence operations targeting our democratic institutions and our values. The task force now brings together the FBI’s expertise across the waterfront — counterintelligence, cyber, criminal, and even counterterrorism — to root out and respond to foreign influence operations.”…….

Of course they are disbanding the agencies that are there to protect us from from outside forces, how else will those outside forces be able to continue their work of dismantling the US Government. There are many foreign adversaries that blame the US for their failures and there is one particular individual that has been working a propaganda campaign for almost a decade about apartheid S. Africa's failure.

………“In addition, the task force will work to fully prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our society, and to move heaven and earth to defend the rights of Christians and religious believers nationwide,” said Trump, who highlighted the example of Paulette Harlow, an anti-abortion activist who was convicted of conspiracy to violate a federal law prohibiting the blockading of reproductive health facilities.

Harlow, who he described as having been sentenced to a two-year prison sentence for merely praying in front of the clinic, was one of the many anti-abortion activists who he pardoned upon returning to the presidency last month……

So we'll continue to see favoritism extended to the evangelical voting bloc, and likely government sponsored (or at least encouraged) antagonism directed at non-Christians. But long term I suspect this will actually cause the reverse of the intended effect and hasten the trend of more and more people rejecting organized religion.

Fact check on the 'sentencing for praying': false, obviously. https://www.reuters.com/fact-check/...cking-abortion-clinic-not-praying-2024-06-11/

And here's the relevant part of the justice.gov statement about Harlow's sentencing:
https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/fina...racy-against-rights-and-freedom-access-clinic

Evidence presented at trial established that the defendants used force and physical obstruction to execute a clinic blockade that was organized by the group’s leaders, Handy and Darnel. The defendants planned and organized the clinic invasion using social media, text messages and telephone calls, and several co-conspirators, including defendants Hinshaw, Goodman, Geraghty, Marshall, Bell, Harlow, Idoni and Smith traveled from northeast and midwestern states to participate in the blockade. Prior to the clinic incursion, the defendants met with other co-conspirators to plan their crime, which included making a fake patient appointment to ensure the group’s entry into the clinic, using chains and locks to barricade the facility and passively resisting their anticipated arrests to prolong the blockade. The clinic invasion was advertised on social media as a “historic” event that was live-streamed on Facebook. The defendants’ forced entry into the clinic at the outset of the invasion resulted in injury to a clinic nurse. During the blockade, one patient had to climb through a receptionist window to access the clinic, while another laid in the hallway outside of the clinic in physical distress, unable to gain access to the clinic.
I'd say this is pretty representative of the pattern of behaviour here. Deliberately misrepresenting actually criminal behaviour as innocuous intentionally enables that criminal behaviour, so long as it's the right criminal behaviour targeted at the desired targets.
