I don't know how they didn't think the IRS wasn't gonna come for them. That payroll tax deferral was a dumb idea from the start...

I forgot about this hare-brained idea. My hospital system took a look and said “no thanks, we will be doing payroll taxes as normal”.

Yeah, in my case, being a federal employee, it was mandatory. But, they also deducted the deferred amounts from employee checks the first few months to pay back the deferral. At least it was automatic so I didn't have to mess with it. Strictly just moving money around. Dumb indeed.
