Following the Project 2025 playbook, in the last week, Trump and his newly installed loyalists have moved to (1) dismiss federal officials deemed unreliable to do his bidding (including 17 inspectors general) - many of which have protections from arbitrary dismissal, (2) freeze all science and public health activity until he can wrest full control, (3) freeze all federal assistance and grant activity deemed inconsistent with Trump's agenda, and (4) moved to terminate all federal employee telework and DEI programs.

The problem is much of this is controlled by federal law and not subject to sudden and complete change by the president through executive order. Most notably is the Impoundment Control Act of 1974 that simply codifies what is the constitutional allocation of resources where Congress appropriates money to the executive branch for a specific purpose, the executive branch must carry out that statutory purpose. This is indeed a constitutional crisis and even if Congress abdicates to Trump by acquiescing, the courts must still apply the law - or rule it unconstitutional.

And meanwhile the architect of much of this unlawful action is Russell Vought, Trump’s OMB nominee who the Senate appears ready to confirm.

People are apparently taking up the resignation letter offer. The offer is open two more days. I expect a lot more to sign up tomorrow and Thursday.

It’s not a bad deal if you don’t have that much vested in the system yet - pays you for eight months while you find another job or whatever.

Especially if you think things are gonna suck or you’d rather not work for this bullshirt then take it.

Well this isn’t great

Does anyone else find this fishy, or is it just my wife and I? In a few days Musk has been able to take over central computers and networks, even changing the code base in ways that the public will never know.

Trump said that Elon knows the voting machine computers very well.....and insinuated that is the reason he won in PA.

Is there a chance these guys stole the election? Please tell me to stop if this theory is too crazy(I realize I am wading into totally speculative waters here....just so many things about the election don't add up, and now we see what Musk and his guys can do very quickly).

Teams for President Donald Trump - and his right-hand man, billionaire Elon Musk - have reportedly proposed spreading fake information, planting “spies” or accessing employee emails to catch the federal workers who may be leaking internal messages to the media.

Since Trump reclaimed the Oval Office on January 20 there has been no shortage of leaks about the president’s plans to re-vamp the federal government or Musk’s attempts to overhaul the federal workforce.

Leaks have included the White House’s plan to pause federal loan and grant programs, an emailfrom a Justice Department official on investigating those who prosecuted January 6 rioters, the initial information related to a federal workforce buyout and more.

It’s become enough of an issue that some Trump administration officials and Musk allies have floated various ideas to try and stop leaks from occurring, those close to the matter told Rolling Stone - in yet another leak.

That includes installing younger employees to serve as informants in different areas of the federal government and then relay information that is perceived as an anti-Trump agenda.……..

Donald Trump said he would be “fine” and “very happy” with the removal of incarcerated American citizens to El Salvador’s jails. Elon Musk called it a “great idea.”

It’s also illegal and an unconstitutional assault on human rights, according to immigration law experts and constitutional scholars.…..

Maybe they could both go live there, too.

October 2028

Someone hands you a list and says this is what Trump, his administration and Musk have done over the last four years

You’d look at the list and say “that’s forking crazy!”

Then you’re told “actually, that was all just the first three weeks”
No question. The speed this is going is like Mach 10.

This crew is 100% aiming to end our republic. Trump only has a few years left in him, but Elon is all in on taking over. Do you really think Musk will ever relinquish the power he has now attained? Do you think they will let Democrats regain any control to go prosecute Musk and his group? This is the beginning of the end, not hyperbole.

Chuck what in the world makes you think that any of that money will actually get paid to them ??

I think it will. The way it is setup, the retirement date is 9/30/2025 - and the pay is deemed earned through that date. The agencies have notified the employees that the offer is legitimate and will be paid.

This isn't Twitter - I'm confident it will be paid.
